A look at the Average Temperature for July at Bridgeport. Definitely in a warming trend since 1990s. Both with the max and the low temp.

The mean used to be 74°F now it's near 77°F. But note the ups and downs

In 1994 we had broken a record at 78.4°. 6 yrs later it was the 2nd coldest July on record.

1992: 3rd coldest
1996: 6th coldest
2000: 2nd coldest
2001: 9th coldest
2009: 5th coldest

Fun to look back on history and see how weather and climate has always fluctuated (changed). Do that on a larger scale (1000-10,000 yrs) and you'll realize looking at a 50-100 yr data point is ridiculous.

This has nothing to do with that. "That" involves every weather station on earth and together as well as averaged out between them they almost all show the same trend, but I will leave it as such and others can chime in if they so wish.

That said, I do agree with you that "that" is not the reason for what you are seeing with Bridgeport as the numbers are greater in a short time and more varied than the way the science works. I have long wondered what is going on with them though too, it's not greater UHI as the lows are not going up faster than the highs and I noticed in recent years sometimes they are the warmest or 2nd warmest daytime high of the 6 OKX major stations and that almost never was the case before. And of course if "that" was the reason they would all show a uniform rise in that sense (though if they all did what BDR did science could explain it with greater jet stream north-south movement, which has been proven to be happening).

I have a somewhat similar issue with LGA, which seems to have warmed more than any of the OKX stations except BDR, and often not only has the highest nighttime lows in the tri-state area, but north of Virginia. My theory is some sort of UHI thing, but I can't pin what happened there vs. elsewhere.

Let’s stick to discussing Connecticut weather. There are other forums available to discuss other issues. JayCT, Moderator

A total of 1.03" at Brainard Airport overnight. Gonna be a while before the dew point comes down. Probably about 85 degrees at 1 pm here.

To date: July 12th.

Number of times 90°+ was achieved.

Bridgeport: 2.
Last yr they hit it 5 times by now
2017 they had 8 by now!

BDL: 10
Last yr they had 15 by now.

So far so good! Just can't want till the 80s stop.

Did that count today as BDR got to 90 (and it was the "warm spot" in the "OKX 6" again! (OK technically 3 of the other 5 stations had a high of 90 as well so it was a "big tie")).

I thought we had a lot of rain overnight. Our pool level was up over an inch. Knew it had to be the rain. Jay

Thursday I went to South Glastonbury and got a few raindrops on Main St. I came back near the East Hartford line, pulled into a clients parking lot and it was soaked! Puddles everywhere. They said it had poured for about a minute and nothing was on the radar. Yet around the corner it was bone dry.

Overnight into Friday we must've gotten hit hard! All my flower pots were overflowing yesterday morning.

If BDL hits 90° this afternoon it will be the 6th day in a row and the second heat wave this month.

It's only been 80s here but....is it over yet?
