Loop last 4 hrs with storm reports. Most people are sleeping so not a lot of reports. Some are from fire departments, some from NWS Employees. But WOW WOW. Note the "18+" report, that's 19.2". This software maxes out at 18" (don't ask)

The insanity is that by late afternoon yesterday, there was just a inch or two. I thought it was going to be the THIRD BUST in a row. The last two recent Nor'easters, I kept hearing people in Connecticut or the Hudson Valley getting 12 inches or more and all we get is a couple of inches.

However, I wake up this morning and it looks like we got a good snow fall well into the teens. Not really sure how much but they are saying on News 12 that some places in central Suffolk even got 19 or 20 inches.

I heard the Babylon School District is closed, probably most schools in Suffolk are closed today.

I think it was you who said, it is all about whether you get those heavy snow bands over you and for how long.

Very good (and humble) article on why this was a bust for most of CT & MA:

Berlin got a light slushy coating on the grass and cold surfaces. Didn't even see a single flake until about 5 PM. The roads and sidewalks were fine on my walk back from work at 8 PM. Popped the umbrella for a wet snow shower. It was 35 degrees. Still amazed about how bad it was that close to us! (New Britain, CT to Islip, NY is only 69 air miles apart.)

If we got an inch by my house I would be surprised......meanwhile down at work in NY it was at least 6 inches....maybe a little more. Hopefully that was the last of the snow......It's Spring........Hope it starts feeling like that soon.

Snow totals from this NorEaster #4 for CT only.. Added some from NYC and Long Island on there.

I will have to grab this map again tomorrow. It's only to 7am and doesn't include more reports from Long Island and into New England but you can see a general idea for now

There it is today looking pretty. Skies are trying to clear here, things are melting. Temps in the 40s down to North Carolina. Cold March day.

Looks like 5 more days of cold then next week Break time !! Spring temps are back! Maybe 50s? Only for 3 days then back down to cold. Unreal. I hope those 3 days next week happen.. We need a break! Then again...I'd like March to set some records so let it stay cold.
