BDL racking up the 90s. Day #2.

1:40pm Map. Clouds moving in

Clouds are riding the top of the ridge..

Simple as this guys.. Always hot under a Ridge. This is the pattern in place right now. Lets hope its not a persistent pattern for summer. Kinda hilarious how the Northeast gets 90s first before the south. I bet you its because we have rocky soil

That Jet stream digging in the plains now will squash the ridge and we get back to normal after this.

Wow if that map is right we are virtually the hottest spot in the country right now tied with southernmost texas. Big contrast though just north of the jet like in much of upstate ny

2:45pm Map..

Jacket needed on Nantucket while bathing suits needed in Taunton and Providence.

Wish I was on Long Island...

BDL hit 94. Breaking the daily record.
NYC also broke the daily record.

3pm update. Nantucket actually DROPPED. lol. More 90s on the map now.

There's no heat index numbers because dew points are still in the 50s. Slight risk for Thunderstorms later.

Doesn't look like we'll crack 80 in Branford/Guilford/Madison but damn if it isn't windy as hell out there. Feels warmer than 79 degrees.

Probably the humidity creeping up thats why it feels warmer?

Groton hasnt past 72 today.

Dont forget this link.. I have it sorted by lowest max temps

Its so hot the 94 is out of place with this. Lol

It would be wild if BDL is the hottest spot in the lower 48.....but I doubt it unless Death Valley is having a "cold snap"....we are already at the time of year where they are usually the "hot spot" consistently....

Given there is a trough out west I doubt even Death Valley was hot so its possible. LaGuardia hit 93

Radar loop last 4 hrs. Looks like pop up showers going on this afternoon northern half of CT. Check out that line coming across NJ. NWS placed CT Panhandle into a risk area

Binghamton had a thunderstorm warning before.
