Funny how a number of people who voted "no" or "undecided" don't even live in CT...and never have based on their posting history

Those are flat scenery lol maybe in Lake county FL where they have at least a hill. I probably would have a second home to stay only for the winter.

I have a good friend that lives in Seminole county and she is trying to sell her house so she can move back to Connecticut after living there for 3 years. She is just sick of it.

I love our state. Politicians come and go but Connecticut is Connecticut. What would make me "happiest" in Connecticut:

Better landscaping on our property.
A bigger bedroom with a second bathroom.
Solar heating/electric
Back-up whole-house generator
Some kid who just loves making an extra $30 whenever it snows, who lives within a house or two of mine. He can use our snowblower and shovel - it'd take him just 2 hours to do the whole driveway and walkway to the mailbox.

Pro of Florida: Low Taxes, Nice beaches, Good nightlife and bars, Good midsize cities, Plenty to do if near major cities like Tampa, Miami, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Buy new home for decent price, nice suburbs near major cities, economy is growing faster than CT, No income tax, No car taxes, Better DMV system than CT, Cost of living is less depends on area it more in South Florida West Palm Beach to Miami lesser to extend Fort Meyers to Naples

Cons: -Hot and humidity from Late May-Early October
-Almost daily thunderstorms from June- Early October it rain 5 minutes to 45 minutes every other day only once for day
-Most of state is flat if you use to mountains and hills
-A lot of bugs everywhere some even bigger than CT bugs
-There snakes, spiders, scorpions, lizards etc, Some areas feel very touristy but not everywhere
-Population is growing too fast putting strain on infrastructure and traffic 1,000 or more move every week to Florida
-You don't get four seasons of weather. It just gets less hot and humid in the Fall/Winter it feel 80-82
-Drivers are more crazier than CT
-Jobs are questionable I think CT area has better job market for some fields and higher pay.
-Hurricanes path every few years or so
-Public schools are questionable but not everywhere

Florida is not for everyone it would good for visiting or gateway from CT for little while to get back on your feet. The state is full of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut residents. North Carolina also even Colorado seeing CT residents.

My only beef with FL is it’s flat landscape and poor public schools. Everything else, great.

Humidity/heat, sea of sameness (chains and charmless new development), flat, boring driving roads, lack of cultural amenities in many areas, a very long drive to any kind of variety/weekend trips outside of Florida, etc.

Miami could be cool to live in, though.

Flordia is big state of course it long drive Jacksonville to Miami is 5 hours 15 minutes drive with no traffic etc or 1 hour 15 mins plane ride. Population and economy is growing well in FL every fiscal year there $500-700 million surplus in their budget
