Radar past 4hrs. Big Vortex above us. See the spin? We're getting some light wrap around snow coming from the north while Maine is getting it from the south.

Some rain or snow Friday.. havent looked into that but I dont think it's anything bad.

Euro lost the storm for Sunday.. maybe GFS gets a rare prize? Lol.

Here's a tid bit from NWS disco

Quote:
Expect the weekend to start off dry and breezy Saturday as a high
pressure system to the south and the exiting low to the north create
a moderate pressure gradient locally.. Long range models
are still in disagreement on the exact details but do align in
showing a southwest wind aloft and moisture return to the Eastern
Seaboard
. Only slight chance to chance for precipitation as of now
but like before the cold temperatures aloft would be supportive of a
wintry mix if it occurs.

Nevertheless it vital to stay updated with the forecast
as we are entering an active weather week.

6z global models shifted north with the Feb 7-8 storm. 12zNAM has a good hit for us. Not over yet (even though I thought it was, lol)

Thank goodness there is sunshine today. It was getting fairly depressing going into day 5 of gray clouds.

All NWS locations in the U.S reporting snowfall that are above normal.

Surprised NYC is 12th most?
Newark 11th. Bridgeport 14th. Hartford 22nd.
Allentown 2 feet above normal is 2nd most.
Des Moines Iowa having a snowy winter.
Binghamton still leads the pack
