Agree that there is always going to be questions concerning if temps are being impacted for other reasons, but microclimates are amazing.

For example the front of my home faces due south, there is only a few months that there is any freeze, while my back yard faces due north a I get freezing temps till late April sometimes.

Also, I think people don't realize how hot that inland areas of the Tri-State and mid Atlantic can get. Newark, Philadelphia, Hartford, and Central Park can all get pretty hot in summer. I remember one time I heard on 880 that the THI was 115 F one day in July. Lol

Total BS.....Hartford fix your thermometer.... 96? where was the thing in the sun?

A quick story. I lived in Gastonia in 2012...the town recorded temperature was constantly 3-4 degrees higher than Charlotte its neighbor and the surrounding towns every day. It was laughable. Then one day out of nowhere the temps were in line. So I did a little digging and sure enough there was an "error " in the readings the past period of time. It was fixed.

Yesterday was a type of weather day that I think might come around once a decade. It hit 90 plus but the dew points were in the upper 40's. July temps but still very much April humidity levels. This basically NEVER happens in this part of the country. Heat and humidity are almost always inextricably linked. Closer to a hot day out in California or Arizona than Connecticut.

That was the much more interesting story than the record breaking heat for mid April, IMO.

Of course today is clouds and higher humidity and spotty rain........so back to the east coast we go!

I was in Danbury for awhile today and it was warm (not hot) and beautiful until we suddenly had a downpour...

Last two days were glorious. Today reminded me of why even our warm season is such a mixed bag. More clouds, more humidity. Meh.

The Hartford Thermometer is clearly broken or out of calibration. Similar to the infamous Newark station which was finally replaced last year after decades of overstating temperatures.

Great day yesterday to chill on the deck, I can see I'll be running the lawn tractor by the end of the week too.

Not the first time I have heard of this. I wonder if the readings being off benefits anyone.

It looks like Hartford will get a chance to test the thermo again. They are forecasting close to 80 F on Thur and Fri it looks like.
