Might as well keep this chilly pattern going next 9 months. Just can't have a consistently very warm spring anymore. I think there were more well above normal days in February

Looks like an upper low. Can't believe its May in a few days!

Been using this for heat past few days. Low 40s to start and only 50s at my home in afternoon, lack of sun too.

YUP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Another year where we can't have a very warm spring.

Circled are the days where the max temp was +10 or more above normal. There were more days in January and February (21) than March and April (6)

I think we get fooled into thinking our spring temps are much higher that they are when we have 80's and 90's in mid April. It looks like next week (May 4th), the highs across CT will be in the mid 60's F or so. The normal high at NWS Bridgeport on May 4th is 65 F. So it looks like nothing really out of norms too much for us.

I checked last year (May 2022). It looks like the same thing happened - a coolish start to May, then mid 70
's F by mid month (and 94 F on the last day of the month - lol). We'll see I guess.

Sometimes I like looking at the map to see who else is dealing with what we are.

Looks like just Southern New England. 60s in Ohio and PA with sun

I think NOAA struggles with the long term forecasts in April and early May. Each week they seem to change their outlook. I'm sure that forecasting spring weather is not easy with all the pressure and solar belts moving from winter to summer. I saw this and if a cool May is on tap, then they were way off in this forecast:
