At 16.5", BDL has more snow this season than the Twin Cities (15.9"). On Wednesday morning, BDL also had more snow than Buffalo, NY (Buffalo has since moved ahead by 4").

Did...Not...Expect...This.. I didn't load the wood stove last night so I woke up to a house below 62°. lol

Still refuse to turn on TStat. Fire is going now, should only be 1 hour before things get warmed up inside.

Not bad considering its 17° outside

It's Sunday...... time to check in on the Top Snowiest "Climo Sites only" in the U.S.

Sorry Hartford, your record snowfall only brought you to 16.5" so it doesn't make the Top 30 list. (38th) spot. Even though its 13.3" above normal.
  • Great Falls continues to be #1.
  • Marquette now moved into 2nd spot.
  • Caribou big move to 6th.
  • Welcome to the Top 30 Syracuse and Binghamton now.
  • The biggest move is Albany at 13th place with 26.8" for the season. normal is 5.5" to date!
  • Sorry Worcester, your big snowfall this week only brought you to 18" for the season so it doesn't make the Top 30 list. (32nd) Even though it's a foot above normal.
It's getting tougher to make the Top 30 list as we get further into winter now. #NeedMoreSnow

The last 2 days the coldest temp in the lower 48 has been in the Northeast. Yesterday, it was -5 at Mt. Washington, NH. At the time of your map it was a tie between the two "-10" on the map (Mt. Washington again and Saranac Lake, NY), but a little later the nearby (to Saranac Lake) town of Old Forge "forged" ahead (behind? ) to -17.

Interesting side note, on different dates, both Saranac Lake and Old Forge are tied for the coldest ever temperature in NY State, -52 degrees!

It was 12 when I woke up. 12

My house is always below 62, I wish I had a fireplace or stove. I wouldn't even want to deal with the permits to add one though. My town is a pain for that.

Permits?? Just need to tell insurance company. You arent changing the dimension of the property no need to file.
