they're open on saturdays for college football which is more fun then the falcons anyway, not to mention for concerts.

Plus the Atlanta United play there too. That Chik-Fil-A sees plenty of customers.

In hockey, Winnipeg is technically a smaller market than Hartford, but I assume the criteria for a Canada-based team is different.

In 2021, Milwaukee & Cincinnati would also not get teams IMO if trying now. First sports looks at tv market by size, and you best be top 30 nationally, and they also tend to want to go to sharply growing metropolitan areas (economically), as corp season tickets rule the decisions.

Getting a team approved was far easier a quarter century ago.

I don't know, I don't like football, but not open for the flagship team is ridiculous

and Austin won't happen either. Jerry Jones won't let it. He pushed hard for Vegas when Oakland looked at San Antonio. San Diego should be an option

It's getting complicated. I had a friend 20 or so years ago that worked for the cable company of nyc. He said you could live next to Yankee stadium and not be able to watch the game. Ticket sales can be a factor as well

Doesn’t matter to fans, since the CFA turns into a loaded fries joint on Sundays. Nobody really cares.

Right. When fans go to games they generally like food they are not regularly getting on non-game days anyways. The CFA leases out that spot on Sundays so gets revenue there anyways and the CFA in the stadium even with Sundays off sells the third most concessions in the entire stadium over the year.

The Yankees thing is most likely because their games are broadcast on YES. Unless you paid for cable, you couldn't see the games.

The NFL has suspended the blackout rule on an annual basis since 2016. That isn't a factor anymore.

Right but at the same point if you are say streaming and showing in Europe GDPR is a factor. GDPR pretty much blocks almost entire legit websites in Europe and has for years. It's not a licensing issue but a security issue.

getting back to subject though I think sports get too detached when they start throwing more money around. When there's more people from the broadcasters showing up at the games vs the actual game officials that's a bit much.
