Snowing in West Virginia mountains too. I doubt we'll see any flakes in CT
Actually, I rode the train this morning and there was a dusting specifically between Waterford and Westbrook today. It looked gorgeous!

I guess I was wrong. I saw wet flakes myself.

Unfortunately the pattern looks to change after this weekend. We get COLDER.

Enjoy the sun and warmth this week!

CDC just issued their new outlooks today:

It looks like Connecticut will be slightly above normal until around March 20th (6 to 10 day Outlook). After that it looked below normal, now CDC has our region as "near normal" in the 8 to 14 day Outlook):

Should be a really nice day again today, desert blue skies, temps near 60 F, and lighter winds.

High pressure over the Tennessee Valley builds toward the East Coast through late week. The result will be modest warm-air advection setting up, kicking off a period of above-normal temperatures. Most locations already in the low/mid 40's F as of 9 AM obs:

Interestingly enough, Thur has the potential to be the warmest day so far this year...with the chance of some low 70's F sneaking into interior southern CT (as of now they are forecast to reach central NJ), as a strong surge of warm air moves across the coastal plain of the East Coast from North Carolina to the Tri-State area:

When you see this in March you know its gonna get cold at least. Doesn't have to come true with the snow but the Jet stream is DIPPING and that means............Cold

Man it felt good today. Sun and warmth. Just like how March should be!

Yes, but the Jet is dipping after this weekend and that always implies "chances" for a coastal storm

Ugh. Upper Air anomalies well below normal next week.

Keep in mind...that even "normal" temps are way below the 60's F we saw today. By next Tue (if the forecast holds?) we WILL get cooler, but only back to normal (normal high is around 46 F by next week):

The main thing in the pattern...is that it looks fast moving. So (again if the forecast holds)...another warm surge will come right back by March 23rd:

Looks like NWS Bridgeport hit 65 F yesterday - tied for the highest temp so far of 2024 (Bradley hit 60 F and CP 66 F). As we approach mid month, NWS Bridgeport stands 8.3 F above normal:

Again today, we should see mid 60's (a shot at 70 F in some spots today):

Coastal living in Spring is a lag...and a drag

Struggling past 40s and 50s while its upper 60s in the Hudson Valley and mid 60s around Hartford

Danbury 66° while Bridgeport only 52°

Waters are still cold.

At least its sunny.
