Public schools teach students how to function in the real world with real people. I know a number of kids that went to private schools, even one that went to an elite boarding school. They aren’t doing any better than the kids I know that went to public schools.
and so are the elite academy privates and boardings, waaaay overrated, you kiddin'. Teachers are underpaid. The boardings are for the most part so the wealthy can get their kids out of the house and out of their hair. They will though get the best networking for jobs at Greenwich hedge funds and Goldman Sachs, even though those are firms that take no special skills to work at, anyone can technically work at GS. You can rile up a bunch of baboons from the Serengeti and they could be up and running GS (once they're done trashing the place probably).

Nah, historically the elite wealthy FFC towns haven't performed well here. NC and Darien usually get ousted in the first two rounds.
Cherished and beloved Forum favorite Fairfield is the only one that gets to the Finals or Final Four.

The Elite Eight will be Fairfield, Milford & New Haven (the Stylo influence), Essex, Stonington, Old Saybrook, Guilford, Madison. Maybe another shoreline town gets in over either Madison or Guilford.

Westport usually performs pretty strongly as well. It's generally just outside the Top 8, and a Top 16 town.

As for the ELITE 8, I'd switch Essex with Litchfield. Essex again is a Top 16 town, but Litchfield historically has performed stronger. It even made 3rd place in 2018.

OH MY WORD!!!! Trumbull and Woodbridge both took very early strong leads as the round started and looked convincing to lock it up, but Darien and Westbrook have came back and are starting to really catch up. Both of those ties are now very close and in play!

I’m not saying all private schools are good because they aren’t. You really need to look at the individual school
itself to really know.
Mental and emotional health are reasons why I don’t want my kid anywhere near most private schools - particularly religious ones. And if my kids happens to be in the LGBTQ+ community, I can’t think of a worse place to send them. Nope. Same with a kid with ADHD or and LD (with notable exceptions.) I’ll take public school in a good district any day.

Even personally, emotionally and socially, the kids that went to private schools aren’t any better than the ones that went to public. If anything private doesn’t prepare them for the rigors of the real world.
