Reading threads like this really makes me wonder what the white people I work with really think about me,it's sad that people in this day and age are so racist
Let me tell you what I think about you (or anyone) -- if you judge people based on skin-color, but not as individuals with their own character. then you are an ignorant human being, with serious issues and insecurities.
It is true that discrimination occurs in many different forms, not just racial or ethnic. Northerners have their prejudice against southerners, so do the southerners. Puerto-Ricans discriminate against Dominicans, and Northern Italians consider discriminate against the Southern, and call them peasants. And French and Germans discriminate all Italians regardless. Just like the Japanese discriminate the Chinese. Jamaicans discriminate against Trinidadis, and no South American like the Argentinians. Argentinians discriminate against all other South Americans and call them names. Step foot in Britain, and see how Brits discriminate against Pakis and Indians. Greeks hate the Turk's guts, and Turks discriminate others. Should I go on?
America is probably the most tolerant country in the world, when it comes to race, ethnicity, origin, and discrimination. That's why all of these people come to us. Why don't they go to China instead?
I went downrange before you were born and I still have a piece of shrapnel in my leg ("acquired" on foreign soil) from the 1980's. I've saved a few lives in my time, too.

There's a huge difference between individuals and much larger masses.
That's why my post referenced collective achievement, and not individual contributions.
I, too, have known some individual blacks, whom I've liked and respected immensely. That comes with my ability to use my mental zoom lens to focus on a specific individual. It's when I zoom out that I see the majority of blacks aren't anything like the individuals whom have earned my respect and praise. To the contrary, the wider the field of view grows, the worse the picture gets.
Feel free to tell me about your personal military service and combat experience. And, feel free to tell me your thoughts about the HUGE disparity of crime - and, especially, homicide - rates in predominately black cities, as opposed to predominately White cities.
I'll spare you the infantile name-calling, which is about as mature as destroying businesses and the private property of those who in no way contributed to a situation one disapproves of. Hmmm, why does that sound so familiar? Who would do such an incredibly stupid thing?

You know, I could attack you as easily and call you many names, but unlike you I will stay civilized and follow the Forum Rules.
I am relatively young, have advanced degrees, have worked all over the world, live and work in the largest city, and pay a lot of taxes so that these losers / looters don't have to work.
I replied to another poster who called for revolution, and I made the case that there are no grounds for it.
You ignorance and blindness in the matter doesn't change the reality. And just because you're tired of hearing the truth, doesn't make it less true.
What does that even mean? It makes absolutely no sense. Black community is exploited by the same left-wing radicals, who exploit other good causes, such environment, etc. etc.
What do they want? Equal-Opportunity laws, de-segregation laws make discrimination illegal. We have a uber-agressive Justice Department, with a hyper-active Civil Rights Division. War on poverty started 50-years ago, and as central Govt has gotten bigger, there is more poverty now.
Central Govt gave money to poor schools, now schools have become thug and baby factories.
Black teenage unemployment is the highest of any other group. Almost 75% of kids are born out of wedlock, most are in broken homes. Blacks receive the highest rate of welfare from all groups.
Yet, blacks find representation through these radicals, like Obama, J. Jackson, etc. They are running the country now. Blacks should be pissed at radical left-wings for ruining their lives, while pretending to make it better.
Wake up.
I hate to burst your bubble, sir, but might you entertain the idea that the problem might be the black community itself, and not the outside forces trying to help it, no matter how misguided they may be? That's my point. Whatever happened to taking responsibility, both personal and communal ones? You are blaming all the problems of black poverty on a repressive and gigantic "socialist" government when there are so much evidence that suggest that it is the weak cultural values among the said group that is responsible for the persistent poverty among blacks.

As far as marijuana goes the toxicology wouldn't tell you anything since it can stay in your system for 6 weeks.
