That makes no sense whatsoever.

Was Ditka misquoted, or does he need to switch to decaf?

Well, apparently not as you demonstrate again below.

People are throwing a fit as you put it. Your response is basically "Hey, don't those players have a 1st amendment right?"

That might be a relevant question if the government was doing something to restrict the players from taking such actions. Any reference to the 1A is irrelevant when we are talking about other citizens being critical of the actions of the players.

Nobody in the government is attempting to do anything about the players, which is precisely why it isn't even remotely a first amendment issue.

My guess is he did not attack any cops when he was arrested, probably the reason he is alive today.

I would not bet my life on it, Mark has been known to be very belligerant, usually proclaiming variants on the golden theme of "Do you know who I am? You will be sorry that you messed with me."

Be careful about letting those straw men get too close to the fire, they might get burned.

You still don't get it.

I'm not talking about people's 1A right to respond to someone else's 1A right.

I can't help you understand that.

I'm glad somebody else remembers that great moment at the '68 Olympics.
But in reality the participants were 100% RIGHT in each case.

A $6k annual car insurance bill (common after a dui) would murder my budget & might even tempt a regular "average" american with driving *uninsured*, leaving them open to "step 2", beatdown for driving without insurance. Mr Ditka can wipe his ample behind with $6k and still have cash for a tip.

We have "tent city" for regular folks who get a dui here in phoenix, but wealthy people can pay a lil' extra to do their time in Scottsdale.. with air conditioning..

To claim that his dui "experience" matches "everyman's" dui experience is complete hogwash..

Aside from the fact that cops have these things called "radios" & dashboard computers that tell them you're "mr celebrity douchebag" before they even leave the patrol car.

So yes.. it's quite likely he doesn't get stomped/choked/shot unless he really acts up.
