Uh, no, you apparently can't even remember what you just wrote on this thread. Kind of embarrassing.

Your direct post-
"The vast majority of the people that have a problem with this women are white conservatives."

Obviously your previous post was nonsense. Why would white conservatives have a problem with her more so than any other group? Why would, say moderate Asians, or liberal Hispanics, or conservative blacks, not have a problem with her? Only white conservatives care about liars, thieves and con artists?

Well the NAACP seems to think she is doing a good job. And I didn't see anything about the university.
While she was attending Howard University she seems to have been a blonde white woman.
The false claims could be false claims. I would not put it past her. Again I'm not willing to pass judgment on her at this time because I think there is much more information that we don't know. I'm mostly more interested in the story from a social psychological perspective.

Dude, you’re embarrassing yourself! I know comprehension isn’t a prerequisite to posting on CD but damn. What in the world would make you believe that a “majority” means an absolute 100% monopoly? There are obviously others that disapprove of this lady. But the group of others are not in the majority like I specifically stated.

That said, you and I both know why white conservatives disprove of this lady more so than any other group. As the primary antagonists to minority organizations that support civil rights (such as the NAACP) conservatives in general started licking their chops when this story first aired. They wanted nothing less than to gloat about how blacks in the NAACP were fooled, misled and deceived but we see right through conservative criticism and we understand the reason behind it.

I'm going with disturbed. However, I don't think she is any more disturbed than anyone else who believes their inner being is at odds with the body they inhabit. She was just better at pulling it off than most.

So do you believe gays and transsexuals are disturbed?

Outside of the NAACP caring, I don't see why this should be national news...
You don't see why an obviously white young lady would make the news by lying about her race, getting dolled up as a black woman, fooling hundreds if not thousands of people and being busted in one of the most awkward interviews the world has ever seen? If this isn't news worthy than 90% of stuff isn't newsworthy.

90% of the stuff they run on the national 24 hour news cycle isn't newsworthy. That's why I rarely watch cable news.

So you meant to say "I don't believe this is newsworthy". It obviously is though.

I don't care whether it is a person who thinks they are fat in a skinny body, a person who thinks they are a male in a female body, a person who thinks they are black in a white body, a person who thinks they are old in a young body, a person who thinks they are a horse in a human body, or whatever other disconnect you can come up with, I believe anyone who is in a body they don't think they belong in is going to have issues. How they deal with that determines how disturbed it makes them.

Oh, and most gays are perfectly happy with their own body. Sheesh.

She claimed her Howard University Masters in Studio Art as a Black badge. She pursued work targeted at increasing diversity, including the position of ombudsman for the police. She has been implicated in sending herself racially harassing letters. She has been implicated in fabricating threats based on her race. She sought much publicity around those threats. She has claimed to be a survivor of child abuse because of her "mixed race" identity. She has, at least once, insinuated that it is wrong for successful Black men to wed white women. She has hectored Black folks for acting improperly Black. She has led a civil rights organization as a Black woman, when Black racial identity is not a prerequisite for the position. She has, in that position made dubious, damaging, & embarrassing actions centered around that historic organization. She strove to keep whites & Latinos out of BlackLivesMatter because "they" were not Black.
She has appropriated Affirmative Action to gain employment from employers that genuinely wanted to employ a Woman of Color. She has existed within a carefully constructed ( if ridiculous ) onion layered skien of lies for years. Many are thinking that this bizarre episode in Race In America is about picking identity. This is really about appropriation & power. It appears that with cosmetic changes she has disguised herself as a Black & Native American Woman for years, for a purpose. Now that this purpose has been questioned, the identity revealed, her actions as an advocate for Civil Rights, based herself in identity politics must be questioned as well. I first became aware of her in March, of this year, when she alerted the world that the Spokane NAACP was receiving hate mail & the discovery of a "noose" on her property. It appears that these were also lies told by Rachel. The story gets worse by the second. Yes, I've made my jokes. Quite a few. I am a Black Twitter Man myself. Even while doing so, I acknowledged that this was some serious stuff. So when I see her becoming the poster child for "transracialism" by very smart people, when I see folks that read the headline without processing the narrative, ask "What's so wrong?" I have to stop joking. When you look at the public presentation of the Black performance of Rachel Dolezal today, things look really foul. The photos in particular. She's a trained studio artist & learned semiotics very well. At the same College of Fine Arts where I learned semiotics to be applied towards Black Liberation. Mental illness may very well be in play. In her personal life, she's suffering. Many people believed in her vociferous Blackness. All the work that she has done as an activist is now thrown in the dust. There's no pretty end to this story. I looked back over her timeline & deleted. She is a pretty gifted visual artist. It's too bad she used her Artistry to obfuscate. Folks wonder now, is she an Agent? I dont know. I think that she is just very disturbed. But the issue, again, is Power. You dont have to be Black to lead the NAACP. You might have to be Black to be Black though. Maybe. Go beyond the headline. This is very bizarre & barely begun. It seems like she couldn't feel black unless she took on the exclusionary views that really only a black person could have. Those views may have helped her feel accepted as a "real" black woman. And let's face it, if she isn't part of the struggle (getting racist letters, etc), people may say she didn't truly know how it was to be black because she could easily pass for a white woman. This story could unravel the frame work of the world she created for herself - I think someone should at least get her some counseling or an evaluation. I could see a swift life changing event such as this causing someone to hurt themselves.
