Criticism comes with the territory when we say or do controversial things.
Thus the opposition to absurd actions like cancelling reruns of The Dukes of Hazard and calling Southerners traitors who were not alive during the Civil War, never owned slaves or supported slavery.
Stuff like that. Which is currently politically correct...

I really like the Dukes and the General Lee. Who decided to cancel them?
Again, I've stated this previously. Whether you are for or against the flag is irrelevant. The fact is that it is being censored because it's considered offensive. What's next? A McDonald's sign, because it promotes obesity?! A group will become offended, and whatever offends them will be taken away. Be it history or not. We are on our way to a sterile society.

I think you're missing the point.
Very few people are advocating that individuals not be allowed to fly the Confederate flag. That, IMHO, is a free speech issue (disgusting though it may be).
What most people are advocating is that a state should not fly a flag of rebellion and insensitivity toward many of the state's own citizens.

Infoplease.com is an online encyclopedia; it is there I read that 500 activist groups has used the (rebel) flag as their symbol for their movement and/or cause.
It's origin, it's a Christian flag, symbolizing St. Andrews (Peter's brother) martyred death as he was hung from an X shaped cross.

Slavery, segregation... just a guess
Self determination to keep government out of our business. See, on one hand I can understand why the Battle Flag (Rebel) was hung from a State House flag pole as there was honor in it, in its day. However that day is gone; the people's understanding of honor has become degraded over time.
The word honor can not even be used today that some one isn't going to come back and say, what do you mean by that?
It is a flag that symbolizes the 'rebel' heart in that they don't see a whole lot of honor coming from their representatives in office at any level of the branches.
Take down the flag from government buildings and give it to the people who understand what it represents. For those who don't understand, then perhaps they have a problem that needs to be addressed on a more personal level.

They always make outrageous claims. Then when called out, they can never prove anything.
You two broke this one off, no? I never had to do anything, merely post here and it stirred some to comment on it repeatedly... quite funny actually.
