Waller County District Attorney Elton Mathis says no cameras were in the jail cell where Bland was found dead. But he says videos from cameras monitoring the hall outside her cell show no one entered or left it between the time she last spoke with deputies through an intercom system and when her body was discovered.
1. Contrary to news reports and postings here, "the traffic stop" was not recorded. As usual, we're seeing someone who's resisting arrest--the point at which a confrontational bystander decides to film the ensuing scene. She reportedly kicked the cop, I believe it, and that's why she was on the ground.
2. Despite the old, smiling pictures that have been dragged out, she was a recently troubled woman.

That's so sad, she did kill herself. I kinda had a feeling she did, but that pretty much seals it. I feel sorry for her family and friends.

That's so sad, she did kill herself. I kinda had a feeling she did, but that pretty much seals it. I feel sorry for her family and friends.
I think she did too...it definitely appears that she killed herself but we'll see the outcome of the investigation. If it's ruled there was foul play, I'll be the first to come here and apologize. She admitted on video that she was depressed. Most of us do not know how it feels when depressed and I hope I never found out. It is very sad.
From what I have read there is no video inside the cell where this lady was being held. There was video outside the cell in the hallway, but it is on a motion timer, and it did not pick up anything suspicious, at least according to the DA. Now I suppose it's possible that the video could have been altered or manipulated, but it seems to me that whatever happened to this lady happened inside her cell where according to all other statements she was alone. Now as far as the initial arrest after the traffic stop, it's hard to tell from all the videos that I have watched whether there was any police misconduct. If the lady did kick the officer, than he certainly has every right to take her to the ground in order to make the arrest.
I can't see there being any real breakthrough in this investigation, but I will wait and see.
It doesn't matter, when the true story surfaces and/if it's proven she committed suicide, the anti-white/cop haters will still scream "racism/injustice!"
If she would have acted like a civil human being and used her turn signal and showed some respect for the officer, she'd still be alive. It's her own fault, nobody else's.
Tell me how she hanged herself with a plastic garbage bag? I doubt it would hold a person's weight.
Also, why was she dragged out of her car for a turn-signal violation or any traffic stop for that matter? When the police stop me, they don't want me to get out of the car, but to give them my license so they can write the ticket. You should not get out of your car for a traffic stop in most cases.
And why would refusing to put out a cigarette lead to her arrest? In Texas? Everyone including the cops smoke.
The video from the jail was released, but they are investigating whether or not it has been manipulated.
Another trumped-up news story trying to find racism in everything. The video proves she hanged herslef. Sad but not newsworthy.
