Yes, this nonsense still occurs in the year 2015.

That Lowe's management was very wrong in accommodating that request. Yes, the customer had that right to make the request, but Lowe's should have told her to go take a hike. Nothing at all to do with "PC nonsense."

A Lowe's employee is claiming that a manager at a Danville, Virginia store complied with a customer's racist requests, CBS affiliate WSET reports.

Marcus Bradley, an 11-year employee of Lowe's who's black, claims the manager prohibited him and a co-worker from delivering an order to the home of the customer after she specifically requested a white delivery driver.

Lowe's should have cancelled the order and refunded the customer.

It's a business decision and a moral decision. I've had Client's tell me not to send blacks to their house. If it's a key client, do you tell them to take a hike? I know the morally self-righteous will always say don't do business with that person but that's not always easy to do when you are trying to get business. By the way, that's not the only thing I've been requested to do that I didn't agree with. Would you work for a racist white, black or Asian if they gave you the best opportunity?

Yahoo news is not always reliable. Lowes may have a good reason for handling it as they did. They have a right to make such a decision without strangers dictating what they should do.

^^^This.

Well, cause you know, all blacks are criminals and everyone knows they just work at Lowes to case white people's homes so they can return to rape and pillage. Lowes has a long history of hiring black criminals that sneak into customers homes after installing their new oven. Yup, it must be true you read it on the internet. (slaps head emoticon goes here.)

I don't care what race someone is when they're delivering something to my house or doing a repair, but I do have three conditions.

1.) Everyone needs to have passed a background check. I don't want criminals working in my home.
2.) They must, must, MUST speak English. Do not send anyone here who does not speak English. Period. Ever. I also expect the workers to not only speak English to me, but to each other as well. I've bounced a pair of service techs out of my house when they kept speaking Spanish to each other.
3.) No illegal immigrants.

To look at it another way... if they were warned this customer was racist, maybe they were protecting the black delivery drivers' safety by sending someone else. Who knows what the person would do?

Good point, but the manager could have also cancelled the order and refunded the customer's money.
