Lets see, 166 (approx) firings for misconduct or criminal bahavior out of 1,000,000 law enforcement officers is huge yet more than 100 student protestors out of a little more than 2000 students is insignificant?
My guess is that most people are spineless non-independent thinking sheep and are afraid to stand against the herd. Especially younger people where peer acceptance is paramount.
Possible.
Also possible that the overwhelming majority didn't agree with the protesters.

JB, weren't you the one claiming that an average of about 166 law enforcement agents fired out of 1,000,000 was such a huge number? I do believe that was you.
Care to explain your sudden change in perspective?
On the thread about anarchists. Things get dicey when saying one thing on a thread and something else on another.
You said 1000 out of over 1,000,000 law enforcement officers involved in misconduct over a 6 year period was really significant, yet now you say over 100 protestors out of approx 2000 is not.
I guess it depends on what you remember saying?
As for trolling, I'm just replying to your comments. Accusing someone of trolling, is, well, trolling. It is also called a personal attack, please stop that behavior. Try arguing your position with facts and remain consistent in perspective.
The 100 students represent many more, as is the case is most protests.
Gonna remind you folks again that students are known to stage walkouts for many very serious situations. Like when a dance is scheduled for 7-10 instead of 8-11. Or over how eggs are prepared in the school cafeteria. Nothing better than a good walkout!

You really are trolling your own thread.
Where did I ever say that? I understand if you don't answer out of embarrassment.

The number is unquestionably an undercount because it represents only those officers whose licenses to work in law enforcement were revoked...
I am mostly in favor of police. My grandfather was an alcohol enforcement agent (busted up liquor stills back in the day) and my father in law is a retired cop.
However, like any person, a few don't do their jobs correctly or are bad and should be eliminated from the their position of authority.
I'm sure some children do like the guy. However, children do not have the life experience to decide right or wrong, especially in a situation such as this.
Based on what I saw, it seems like he went too far and the correct decision was made in this one instance.
Just seeing a grown man treat a teenage girl like that makes me cringe
Hmm, plenty of teen girls stabbing or shooting others, so don't cringe too much.
The officer is getting some support from plenty of black students, which is pretty interesting. Back in my day getting paddled, physically town out of class and more was normal. Now you just have to let students interrupt class and just forget class for that day. You can't discipline teens anymore or you get fired. Now that this has gone viral, you will see copycats around our country testing this power out. I am sure it will be great for most kids who need to actually learn something and become productive later in life. Ah well, there is always private schools for the people who have money, so at least those kids will get an education. Poor kids? Not so much as this thing gets worse and worse. Might want to bring back the paddle.
