The guy that was killed, is it the one that was using the tarp?

I may be alone on this but it's sad that it had to end this way for him.

May he rest in peace.

Here is the real story....

Oregon Standoff
Instead of arbitrarily deciding your weird source (farmwars.info? Seriously?) how about the account from an occupier who was there? He says dude was shot for charging the police. Are you going to also dismiss an occupier that was in one of the cars as the media?

Funny = early on he mentions the asinine comments by people who weren't there... guess what, he's talking about people like you.

No one minds paying grazing fees. The objection is in paying them to a Federal agency when the Feds do not own the land and the fees should go to the State.

Pretty simple. Might not seem like a big deal. But, it is. And someday it will matter to even those who never own an animal, or care to see empty land. It is about Federal agencies overstepping constitutional boundaries.

LOL, you can't expect anyone to take you seriously when you post such obvious BS. Who do you think owns the land?

Well no. See same video, Mark McConnell was there and he says they took off in their car leading to a chase, and then charging at the police, which led to a shooting.

Again, is video above from the evil media? Hmmm who to believe, an account from one of the occupiers who was arrested in that traffic stop or the guy on a message board who claims to have done his own research which resulted in a link to farmwars.info?

I'll take the guy who was there, thanks.

Now most occupiers have fled overnight. Feds should have arrested every last one of them. You try taking over federal property and walking away Scot free.

Imo it works better tactically to give some of the followers free passage and just hold the perceived leaders accountable.

If you're a leader you're more inclined to give yourself up either b/c you can feel good about sacrificing yourself for the others (the whole "women and children first" thing), or more selfishly, because you know they can just walk out on you anyway because they've been offered free passage.

Plus the government gets a little bit of PR out of the deal, and perhaps avoids trying a few cases that might prove harder to win. I don't have any inside info, but I'm fine with that seeming compromise if it helps resolve the remaining situation peacefully.

Try this, drive to Yosemite and tell them: "I don't mind paying for an access pass to Yosemite, but I object to paying it to a federal agency" then just go on in without paying and drive around the park for the rest of the day. See how that works for you and then come back and tell us about it, ok?

It is also a very useful tool later on in the process. Let the low level offenders go and down the road you can give them a choice to cooperate and testify against their buddies or face the same charges. It will be years before the statute of limitations runs out and in the meantime, everyone that was at the wildlife refuge has the threat of multiple felonies and serious prison time hanging over their heads. It is not like these idiots are hardened criminals, some of them are all but guaranteed to eventually flip on the others. Most of these people would trade their own children for the chance to stay out of prison and be allowed to continue owning guns.

I suspect the Bundy brothers are already trying to work some deal for themselves in exchange for information on other criminal activities their fellow sovereign citizens are engaged in or planning. I believe that Ritzheimer was working as an informant and agent provocateur for the feds, that is why he was at home with his family when it all went down.

The FBI and federal government has been playing these suckers for fools. They let them hang out on federal property for weeks while they gathered evidence of more and more crimes taking place. They now have intelligence like names, photographs, online profiles, etc. on pretty much every right wing militia idiot willing to travel and support this kind of stupidity.

They're ID'd. Easier to pick them up one by one - get back to your house and family and dog, then have someone show up on your doorstep - now you realize just how much you have to lose. A lenient plea deal in return for being a witness for the prosecution may begin to sound appealing.
