This actually happened in August. I did a search for it on this forum but didn't find any threads on it.

Pretty shocking how these senseless things happen in an instant, no rhyme or reason at all, you just never know what petty little thing will set someone off these days.

Man shot and killed for not holding the door open for woman at a McDonald's | KSNV

Quote:
An argument outside a North Las Vegas McDonald’s turned deadly for a 31-year-old man.
Family members of Mohammed Robinson say he died Saturday night after he mistakenly did not hold the door open for a woman....

The friend told Sampson, her father got into an argument with a woman that was upset that a door into the McDonald’s was not held open for her. The woman notified a man she was with and that man pulled out a gun and shot Robinson.

The man who did the shooting was just indicted by a Clark County Grand Jury November 10. The article posted by the OP is older, so doesn't mention what happened afterwards, who did the shooter was.

It gets weirder...the suspect escaped the interrogation room by breaking handcuffs, climbing into the ceiling and then stealing a vehicle after getting out of the building

Anyone who holds a door open for specifically a woman, but not a man, is a sexist moron. Mohammed Robinson did the right thing - too bad he paid for it with his life. Jail the shooter for the rest of his natural life.

I don't think anything is wrong with holding a door for a woman...or really for a man either. It was super common in the south. I used to joke I never once opened a door in public for myself. I don't know, I don't find it sexist.

Now that I moved to Minnesota, people are so weird about it. They never do it (or hardly ever) and if you hold the door for someone, you can tell they are uncomfortable. They might just hit up another door to avoid you. So weird.

It shouldn't be mandatory, but its polite (male or female)

That is what I said. If you open it for both men and women, you are nice. If you hold it open for neither men nor women, you are somewhat rude. If you hold it open for only women, you are a sexist.

That is one of the loosest definitions of sexism I've ever come across.
