It reminds me of the story of a guy who accidentally shot himself over Russian roulette with friends by thinking he tricked his buddies while they were distracted and making sure the slot on the revolver was empty because the lone bullet was next to it.
What he didn't know was revolver upon firing "revolves" and the next slot with the bullet on it was just waiting for him.
