I dont blame her one bit. I would do the same thing. People have had it with the trash in this country. The legal system does little for victims, and treats the criminals better. She probably has little money to spare in life, and just snapped and went after him. Good for her.

law disagrees, you cant chase someone and hit them from behind...

no longer self defense if not actively being attacked, he ran, she became the aggressor/criminal when she went after him

What exactly did you discover about her? Can you give an example from her social media as to what you're talking about? Are we talking like she's a drug user or she's threatened people with violent actions before or what? I'm curious now what it is that people have dug up on her.

Which is exactly why she's been charged with a crime and arrested. We live in a nation of rule of law. If you break it, you suffer the consequences of your actions. They should teach law as an elective in high school and college so everyone understands this concept, not just lawyers.

This is all she faces with a charge of misdemeanor using a deadly weapon

Class A1. A Class A1 misdemeanor is punishable by probation, supervised probation, or a jail sentence of one to 60 days. The judge may also impose a fine, whose amount is at the judge’s discretion. If the defendant has prior convictions, the sentence can be up to 150 days in prison.

The jury will likely feel otherwise. I predict a guilty plea to a non-criminal offense, lower than a misdemeanor, such as disorderly conduct. That will enable the court to issue an order of protection to compel her to leave the thief alone.

Our laws don't say you can't pursue a criminal with your vehicle. That's what she did. Accidents happen. Had it not been for HIS actions, nothing would have happened to him.

But if you hit someone with that vehicle and it is not self-defense, as HighFlyingBird cites, that is assault with a deadly weapon, which indisputably she is guilty of.

This was no accident. This was an intentional crime she should spend at the very least a weekend in the county jail for.

What? You really think she's likely to stalk the guy and try to hit him again?

No. But the order of protection gives a measure of justice and closure without ruining her life.

She's got a criminal record with two charges of "communicating a threat", one of "damage to private property" and some other undisclosed criminal court case stemming from something that happened a couple months ago.

As well as veiled threats on social media, "oh you can call the cops but I'll be beating your *$$ until they show up".

Enough. She's dangerous, as most can observe by watching this reckless behavior of trying to run someone over in a public parking lot.

I know some people are good with killing purse snatchers, but the next time she flies into a rage it could be over some unintended traffic mistake and she'll completely fly off the handle and attempt murder over that, too. Or some person perceived to make a disparaging remark about her baby, and all hell breaks loose.
