Its a little extreme but I can't help thinking good for her. Beating on your loved pet is just a way to intimidate and control.
Its a real problem with many men. I seriously doubt this was some in all other ways nice guy who just happened to want to beat her cat. Frankly I'm always shocked that more women don't defend themselves. A high school friend recently had her daughter, mother of her 3 grandchildren, shot and killed in the driveway by her boyfriend who then shot himself. This woman just got in the first shot imo.

An update on the condition of the cat, and a statement that she's been released from jail pending adjudication of this case.

The cat, whose name is Smokey, appeared to be severely beaten...
In MY state, that wuld be aggravated animal cruelty, which is a felony. But sadly, offenders still get off with a relative slap on the wrist.

While murder is WRONG, I could see myself snapping and attempting to kill someone who harmed my cat.

A person who would hurt a pet like that is not worth allowing to move around in society.

OMG I am nauseous.

He had to've held the cat DOWN, and punched it...

Now I wish I were rich enough to pay her legal fees...and sorry his death was swift and painless.

EDIT: ugh just read he had abused the DOG TOO in the past. She stayed with him after that? She didn't place the animals elsewhere? That makes me mad at her too. I'd still pay her legal fees though as she did society a solid.

The Dallas woman who told police she shot her husband because he was beating the family cat said she was afraid he would hurt her, according to an affidavit for her arrest warrant.
There ya go, %.

Yeah, I know, he is human and cats are only animals, but he was probably abusing the wife too.

I'd love to be on that jury, I would award her pain and suffering and set her free.
There's so many dirtbags in the world. Bad bosses, pathological liars, con artists, lazy slobs...can I shoot them too?

Hell, why don't we just start the Purge?

Harming the weak and helpless, direct PHYSICAL assault type harm to a helpless creature, is in a class by itself; you're muddying waters.

It wouldn't even have to be MY cat.
