"The company is bringing back a limited number of New Coke cans in honor of the upcoming third season of "Stranger Things," in which the product is featured.........And it wasn't easy to recreate the product: Coca-Cola had to reach into its archives to get the design of right, and dig through its vault to recover the recipe."

What's so hard about taking liquid out of their septic tank, and putting it into "New Coke" cans, just like they did years ago?

I never cared much for the original, much less all of the new & improved they've come up with since. But they would probably be better off to quit over-thinking it, and just stick to their basic product. I guess the marketing folks have to keep proving their worth.

It's a limited run.. Just like Crystal Pepsi last year.

It's a smart move on their part.. People will snap it up.. Remember, it's been 30 years since it was released and was only out for 3 months then.

There's a whole new generation who either never heard of it or never tried it. Again, like Crystal Pepsi.. They weren't missing anything.. But they're all likely curious about it and would want to try it.

I do remember it and I didn't particularly care for it. But I've always been a "Coke" person vs Pepsi. I did not think it was horrific as many did.. But I also didn't think it was as good as the original.

This is more about Stranger Things than Coke. New Coke wouldn't be re-happening without that show and the '80s nostalgia train. It's a mutually beneficial arrangement, and shrewd marketing on Coke's part. Stranger Things fans that are younger than ~30 aren't even going to remember New Coke. The ones in their ~40s will barely remember. And all the ones younger than 30 won't have a clue. Fans of that show are going to buy it for the novelty, not because they expect New Coke to new and improved.

Crystal Pepsi only makes me think of 1 thing now: Crystal Gravy.

I do the same for the full sugar coke. You realize just how much sugar is really in it. Sweeter then a milkshake. The soda is more fun with some Jack Daniel's in it.
