I saw the video and I don't see it as a play area where kids are playing, I was imagining a large room with rubber matted floor and toys all around, this seemed like an adult area with a BAR even. It does seem like the "grandpa" went directly to the only window open and puts her on the window. There should be witnesses, too - the room was crowded with passengers and not like a few kids playing around with their minders watching. It was chilling to see this video, how did it get leaked? I heard he cut a plea deal with prosecutors, is this true?

If he didn't raise her to the window, she would have never fallen off. I think at that height, kids wouldn't be able to climb up unless they were carried up and older kids wouldn't have fallen off by themselves with that window open. This is such a baseless lawsuit.

Just read today that he is considering the plea deal. What a travesty and that poor little girl’s life was not worth anything. He should be tossed out that window.

Teacher Terry,
I know there's nothing comedic about this tragedy, but I had to suppress a laugh when I read your post.

The lawsuit is just a desperate attempt to preempt his criminal prosecution. It stands a zero chance of success. It's completely frivolous. They are just using it to try and make him look like a victim, instead of the perpetrator. They are hoping that it will cause the prosecutor to drop the charges. Which I don't think is going to happen.

It doesn’t absolve the cruise line if he is found guilty.

I don’t think RCCL is culpable, just saying that a conviction would not mean the lawsuit can or will go away.

It was never stated that it was a “playroom”. You must be new to the story.
