Ooohhh ... SHE had to go ... that makes a lot more sense! We don’t get the privilege of whipping it out & being done with it; I can see this turning into a ‘guess I’ll walk the dog’ type of scenario. WTF about a guy with a knife?
Get far enough away from the road to go & then run into a guy with a knife ...
I don't understand why trackers couldn't actually track her movements. They knew almost the exact location from where she disappeared. Do rescue teams not utilize tracking skills when looking for people lost in the woods (Broken twigs, scuff marks, disturbed dirt/ leaves)? Did they use tracking dogs? Maybe I watch too much TV?

I read they did have tracking dogs. We'll have to wait for further info.
If there was a person living up there chasing campers with a knife, law enforcement would have known about it way before now. She must be his first victim
Or else, LE has withheld info about prior complaints. This reminds me of the case a year or two ago in an LA canyon campsite, where a dad took his little girl camping, and a homeless person living in the canyon/park shot the dad. Then it was revealed later by LE, that there had been other incidents in that same canyon area, and that it was known, that there was a homeless man with a gun living there.
Apparently they don't issue warnings or put up notices on the pari/national forest/whatever wilderness area's website, urging the public to avoid the park.
Surely any guy with a knife could have overpowered a 5'2'' 120 lb woman.
This makes no sense.
Looks like we have ourselves a "cliffhanger". At least she's safe, but we'll probably have to wait for her to get some sleep and recover a bit, before we find out more.

Just got an update and she's been found alive, being taken now to the hospital. It seems she just wandered off while her husband parked the car and got lost.
No giant bird, no falling down a deep canyon, no abduction, just plain lost from wandering too far from where her husband was coming back to.
