It's rough terrain, I doubt she was on any trail, but still... "Running for hours" could, if you stretch it, mean "on the run." Like she ran a little, hid, rested, looked around to see if the coast was clear, and then moved on. That kind of running. More like running from the law and less like running for your life.
No way was she actually flat-out running for hours. For one thing, there wouldn't be any need. If someone is pursuing you so closely that you are actually running, one of two things will happen: they will overtake you, or they will give up. It's not going to take hours for either the 60-year-old woman or the burly man to get too tired to physically keep running. No one has said she ran marathons, have they?
The "traveling" over the next two nights completely baffles me too. In two nights she should either have been back at the campground or been a lot farther in the opposite direction.
She herself said in one of her interviews that she wasn't a strong or fast runner(cant remember which), but that she was a strong hiker.
OK, but that would have meant, that he returned to their car, and hauled her around to a site where he could dispose of her. If there'd been a ground search crew (still not clear if there was or not), they'd have seen the car tracks, no? They might still find them, if police suspect him.
No background info on the state of their marriage, no interviews with friends or relatives...yet.
Someone really needs to start a new thread about this. It's too hard to follow the posts about this other case, when they're mixed with the Powell thread.

Anyway, doesn't anybody see the connections? Sheryl states a BALD man noticed her BALD privates and was driven so insane with lust, he had to have his way with her. He had a looong sharp knife too. Also, she ate cactus or prickly pears, you know, with sharp pointy things sticking out of them. Next, a dog left by a stagnant water hole to lap up stagnant water? I bet the water hole was, oh say, 60 years old.
She might be in Area 51 - but jest aside- I hope she and her pup are well somewhere. All I can think of is a very well planned dissapearance by her or him erasing of any evidences.

Tiny, she's been found, in remarkably good shape and so has her little dog. ;D
