Or anyway, that's what'd been described early on.

The dog didn't need privacy. She probably just wanted to take it toward brush on the edge of the camp site. You wouldn't want your dog peeing or pooping in middle of where you plan to camp. Plus I think its a male dog and they like something to pee up against.

I don't know why she wandered off when surely husband would need help unloading and carrying the camping gear from the parking spot to the campsite? I mean, was he going to carry it all by himself?

The family is completely bent out of shape because no one believes the mom. The fact that even law enforcement is skeptical doesn't mean that no one believes women when they say they've been attacked by a sexual predator, it just means no one believes women whose stories change so fast it appears they're making up details as they go along and forgetting what they made up before. As she ran she grabbed her tiny dog who couldn't walk, then found water in a stagnant pond that turned into a spring that tasted so good she decided to leave and go elsewhere, first tying up the beloved tiny dog next to what was now a stagnant pond again. It was so important to take the dog with her while running for her life that now she abandons it? And the dog that couldn't walk freed itself from its leash while magically keeping its collar intact and wandered 200 yards away. She "traveled" by night to avoid being seen by the predator, except she never saw him after the first day and wasn't worried about seeing him again so she was traveling at night to avoid dehydration. Despite that spring. And four days of "traveling" got her no more than 2.5 miles from her starting point. Good grief!

She doesn't seem to understand that making up stories about people threatening sexual assault is an insult to women (and men) who have TRULY been sexually assaulted. There is no evidence that this woman encountered anyone and it does no good to push a narrative that actually discredits REAL instances of sexual assault. I know she probably wants to be "supportive" of her future MIL so she is not going to NOT believe her, even if she really didn't believe her. But turning this into a "statement" about white men and all that just does more harm than good. Why couldn't she wait to see how this unfolds before speaking out?

(P.S. Wasel, not aimed at you, aimed at the fiancee, just couldn't find the original quote)

I know you weren't referring to me. And I agree with you!

This is truly getting bizarre. There have been other women who have faked an abduction. And it was eventually discovered.
Too much conflicting information.

Miley is my hero. After all of that, he still somehow had the strength to bring back a search party to save his momma.

Case closed for lack of father investigative leads.
People keep saying this, but we know there were no other cars or campers in the area. There were no potential witnesses. The fact that there were no witnesses doesn't confirm or deny her story, of course; it only means this isn't a point to use in disproving her story. There's already enough other ammunition for that.

The only way her story could be true, I'm reaching the conclusion, is if someone dropped a hiker off before she and her husband arrived, so the guy could hike down to whatever destination he'd chosen, where the drop-off person would be waiting with the car. Or maybe he planned to hike all the way to the nearest town, whatever. It's possible. But given that they were near the end of the campground road at one point, it seems odd that he would be at the starting point of a hike just as they arrived and were getting set up, when as far as we know, they encountered no car departing, as they were arriving and scouting the area out.

This is the current events forum. That type of discussion would get the thread deleted.

She doesn't seem very good at keeping her story straight, maybe she meant to say it was the man with the bum leg.

One of the articles I read said she just happened to have a turkey treat in her pocket that she rationed for the dog. This woman definitely leads a charmed life with every possible problem she encounters having a solution.

I have to correct the dogs sex though. I thought Miley was a he also, but rereading something the son wrote and he called Miley she.

Just remembered one of the news anchors called Miley a shero lol!

I wonder if the man had any comments about Miley's (ahem) privates? Maybe this will come out...

Maybe the only thing about her story that's actually true is the comments he made about her (ahem) privates, but it was said/received in a good way?
This actually Happen to a Co-worker of mine in the 90's here in San Diego. it was a huge case. She had half of SD looking for a grey Chevy Malibu for over a week. She eventually showed up at a police station after missing for over a week. The story she told was, some dude kidnapped her, put her in the trunk of his car, drove her to the local mountains and had his way with her for a week. That was all true except for, being kidnapped, and the local Mountains for a week, she was in Vegas with her lover for a week and didn't bother tell her husband and Teenage kids where she was going. The boyfriend after being arrested told the Police everything. She eventually quit her job in shame, left her husband and moved in with the boyfriend I worked 2 cubile over from her

This is one reason why i don't trust people when things like this happen.
