My family and I currently live in Arkansas and we are planning to move to Plano, TX by the summer. I am a teacher and my husband is a veteran that attends school. I have two children a 2 yr. old and 8 yr. old. I want to find out more information about the city of Plano. Please Help... We are planning to rent a house until we decide on this being a great place to stay or not.

Plano is a huge suburb with 70 schools. It's a very good established school district. They have a preschool for 4-year-olds (it's tuition based, but it's part of the public school system). The high schools are divided in 9-10th campuses and 11-12th campuses because the schools are big. It's very academically competitive district with a lot of Asians and Indians.

Plano has all the usual retail, restaurants, grocery stores, parks, public pools, multiple hospitals, daycares, hotels, gyms, libraries. It's also on the DART mass transit rail line and there is mass transit bus service.

Finding a teaching job may be tough. Will your husband be transferring schools? What does he do?

My husband will be transferring schools. As of now he is a disabled veteran, but he is attending school. I know that finding a job will be hard, but I'm being positive about finding one. I am certified in Pk-fourth grade in Arkansas. I will be applying for licensure in Texas in January, because I'm currently working on my Master's in Arkansas (Dec. 18, 2010 )!
