It's not as cold as the upper midwest but it most certainly has a winter season with snow 1-2 times per year and several days of ice rain, icy roads and golf ball sized hail. That doesn't make Dallas a bad city by any means but I fail to understand why Dallas residents cover up the fact regarding its winters. The entire world is seeing Dallas Ft. Worth weather up front with the Superbowl. I've been in Dallas when it's snowed on Thanksgiving and if you don't believe me, youtube the infamous Cowboys-Dolphins Thanksgiving game in which Leon Lett made that huge error. The snow on the field is visible.
Do you have many examples of Dallas residents saying this? It snows or ices once or twice a year, pretty much without fail. And it gets super hot in the summer. I think most people concentrate on warning people about the heat because it lasts for longer than the cold blasts we get -- that last for two days at most.

I haven't seen anybody say that we have the same weather as San Diego or a "cold weather cover up" by Dallas residents. This sounds like a made up conspiracy theory.

You can go cycling year round. Maybe not every day, but I have a hard time believing that weather is perfect 365 days a year in San Diego and Hawaii.

It certainly snows or ices here once or twice a year. But it is usually not that big of an event. And anybody that has to wear thermal underwear and a mask in Dallas for cycling is an exceptional wimp!
It's going to be in the 40s on down this weekend, more than likely.

Going by WFAA:

So, 50s on Sunday actually. I've noticed the Weather Channel is usually off, compared to local forecasts.

WFAA (channel 8) is usually accurate or close to it.

We're really getting to a new level of pettiness. Whether it is 59 or 60 -- it ain't gonna be freezing. If you've grown a pair, you can go cycle.
