My Dallas move has thus far been very successful. We love the city and we love our neighborhood. I live in North Oaklawn right in between Highland Park and Uptown. The only problem is that we just decided that in a few months my DH and I will both be going back to school so we NEED a cheaper place. Transportation to school is not a problem and my husband works in Carrollton and I work right of 35. We want to stay in our neighborhood but the only place that fits our requirements (newish interiors, preferably more then 1 bathroom, washer and dryer, rent 1000 or less, and near where we live now) is at 4777 Cedar Springs (which I had mentioned on here before we moved down but was able to expand my budget when I got here). I found some other places but they are all in the burbs. Should we move into this complex, although it not in the prime are of Oaklawn because at least its close to where we live now and where we like to hang out at (Uptown and Know Henderson) or should we move out to the burbs? Is that area of Cedar Springs that bad? I wouldnt be out walking a dog at night but I do stay home alone sometimes while my husbands away on business and the property is gated

I'm glad you found a neighborhood you like!

I think 4777 is ok. You definitely don't want to be out walking alone at night as some of the apartments up/down Kings from that address are kind of rough, but I think you'd be perfectly fine ther alone during the day! It's a safer neighborhood than the part of Oak Lawn south of Cedar Springs- if you're familiar with that area and want to gauge the "ok-ness" from that.
