I've never had a car broken into in in East Dallas, but it's happened three times when I was up north...BMW really does mean 'break my windshield'.

The Round Up Saloon is a great place and really busy on the weekends but not owned by Caven. Woodys just down the street (on Ceder Springs)is busy too also not owned by Caven. That whole area around the intersection of Cedar Springs and Throckmorton is packed on the weekends. And never seemed dangerous despite what I was told. Hence the reason I started this thread. In general I notice that area heading west toward Inwood or north toward Lemmon was nicer than the area heading south toward Maple.

Default Knight & Sylvester

How about the area between Harry Hines and the Tollway on Knight (Knight & Sylvester)? There are some nice townhomes there that I am looking at, but am not very sure of the neighborhood. I've had friends tell me to stay WAY away from there, and some say that it's well along the way to redevelopment.

Any thoughts?

SkyRyder... depends on what you're looking for. As best I recall, that area is not yet rebuilt and is probly way down on the list.

For daytime it would be okay as a work area, I have friends working around there.
Nighttime, park close, stay in the light, preferably with other people around. Buddies is or was there as was the Brick.

Nearby by, the other side of the tollroad is development but you wouldn't want to be walking the streets alone at night. Or not, your call.
