We have 2 kids, starting 2nd grade and 5th grade in 2022. From what I am reading I see lot of Indians moving to Frisco or Plano. Are there specific areas that are good with school options? Also most Plano East houses show Williams high school for 9-10 grades - this seems to have a poorer rating compared to other high schools in Frisco. Can you help with where we would be better with school options ?
I work remote and don’t have to commute.

I also read about coppell having good schools. Sorry if the question is repetitive from earlier school questions - I saw discussions that were from 2018. Just trying to get a fresh perspective.

I see Plano has a IB program - hence kids might be able to take advantage of that and go to PESH - but it looks like it’s only by lottery ?

In Frisco I see some areas with schools that show a 6 rating versus others with a 8 or higher. How much of a difference does that make?

Where’s the job located? Realistically, there’s almost no measurable or real difference in any of those schools - Frisco HS system is smaller school, Plano is Large HS with a 9-10 campus.

High performing students will perform well in any of them.

If you work remote, why move at all?

Because his questions are about schools for his children. Nothing wrong with moving to find good schools for children.

I know I'll be doing that in the future to make sure my child attends a good public school and I work remote.

Could have outgrown the current house with a new child, might need multi-generational housing, could be disappointed in their existing neighborhood/schools, might be peer-guilted into moving to an enclave, might have now just gone remote and need a dedicated office space. May have just received a major promotion and wants to buy that dream house, may be downsizing and only having one income to have a parent at home dedicated to children’s activities.

Tons of reasons for people to move. I think the last time I checked the average was just under 5 years or something like that. Like it or not, people will move to DFW for reasons other than what yours were.

true but most recently ppl are moving here just because of the FOMO of their dream house and heard mentality, sometimes there is no justification to move but because X has moved and enjoying , Y should move as well.
crazy times.

That’s what I meant as the peer guilted into moving.

While it may not be the reason you or I would move, it could be theirs.
