That is what I thought at first too, but it looks like they are talking about with businesses when they talk about "customer service". I.E. treating companies in a way to make them come here or stay here. I know of someone who wanted to expand their company in Dayton and the people working in Dayton at the time would not work with them at all. So, they moved out of the city completely.

That is what I thought. I am just happy to see them putting money into it.

^that it did! Always wondered why they switched nameplates. The DBJ article was poorly worded (which normally is not the case... must be a new writer), but I can almost guarantee the point that was trying to be illustrated was it used to be a Doubletree, and since changing to being an independent hotel a few years ago it lost 80% of its business.

And I'll start with the bad news... store closings in the local malls:
The Greene loses major restaurant tenant - Dayton Business Journal
Wet Seal stores closing | Dayton, OH business | www.mydaytondailynews.com

Then the good:
American Heritage Motorcycles to open Dayton dealership for Indian and Victory brands - Dayton Business Journal

Then the 800-pound gorillas of good news:
Cabela?s to open store in Centerville development - Dayton Business Journal
Downtown housing project may get go-ahead soon | www.mydaytondailynews.com

Big news week!

I thought we had enough of those stores around here already, but I guess another one right down the street from me was needed .

That building would be a perfect mixed-use, especially if the student housing actually gets off the ground.

Agreed. Glad to see the city appears to see it the same way and is taking action towards a residential future there. It's the easiest conversion in the city IMO.
