Very nice pictures, Averie.

Should have seen 16th Street last December after the big storm. Covered in snow, it looks truly majestic.

Thank you so much for posting all the great pictures. I've enjoyed all your posts with pictures, please keep them coming. We don't get to move there until April and your pictures are making me very anxious to be in denver, and also just to be back in the states again.

No, we haven't had a chance to visit yet...we've never been anywhere west for that matter. I don't think either of us have been further west than let's say Alabama? LOL...we are bringing three kids with us also, so I know our trip will be considerably longer than 2.5 days. I think mapquest says it is like a 26 hour drive from us...I don't remember exactly, hubby looked it up.
I know that I am beyond ready to leave this miserable hell hole called FL, lol. The high today was 82 degrees...
I had to laugh at the weather man last night...we was saying that a cold front is coming on Tuesday or Wednesday and everyone should get their sweaters and gloves ready (he was serious about this).....the high on Tuesday is supposed to be 73, and 70 on Wednesday @@
I am still wondering exactly who thinks 73 degrees is sweater and glove weather...

Whether you choose the Springs or Denver, you'll win either way. Both areas are booteeful. And I was in the same boat, everything I wanted out of life was here at my fingertips. The area just fits me like a glove!

Have you had a chance to visit out here yet? And next summer isn't far away at all, you'll be here before you know it!

It is frequently in the 70s here in December. The record highs for each day in December are all in the high 60s and low 70s. The highest I could find was 76degrees on Dec. 17, 1980. www.accueather.com Do not come here expecting conditions like you would find in Minnesota or N. Dakota. It's not Florida, but it's not Antarctica, either.

Re: Mapquest: Remember they don't figure any time for meals, bathroom breaks or getting gas. As my daughter once said, "You can eat in the car. You can pee out the window. But you have to stop for gas!" I have sometimes chewed up 30 min. getting gas when the gas stationed advertised as "this exit" was actually a few miles away.

After all that, Good Luck!

70 is a great temperature...I would prefer to live in a place that still has some warmth. In FL the temp change between the high and low is like nothing....you can sweat at night just going outside. So tomorrow the high here is 84 degrees and the low is like 78 or something. It really is VERY hot. It is like this year round also...it never changes.
I LOVE the outdoors, but we never go outside to parks or anything because it is just too friggin hot...the kids gets sick because of the heat. You wanna go outside you have to bring 2 gallons of water with you, lol.

Those pictures are FABulous. My daughter and son-in-law and my 16 month-old grandson are moving there next month. I can't wait! My SIL is a pastry chef, so he moves around a lot. It's always fun to go visit them and explore new areas. I'm a teacher, so I get lots of time off and spend it with them helping out with the baby. So far I've spent a summer in Philadelphia (loved it) and a summer in Scotch Plains, NJ (loved it, too).

My daughter is a stay-at-home mom and she has made so many wonderful friends in both Philly and Scotch Plains, so I think this move will be a little hard on her until she hooks up with some moms. I'm coming out for a week in February and I'm so excited! I've spent a few days in Parker, and they will be probably be living near where my SIL will be working (Inverness). She and my grandson are here, now (she was raised in Half Moon Bay, CA) and we are looking at the weather every day. Brrrrrrrr. That will take some getting used to.

It looks like it will be mostly in the 50s for the next two weeks. Not bad for early December.

Bathrooms can be nice places. Some have free mints.
I have never, never seen mints in Men's Rooms anywhere. Just like all restrooms, Ladies have more room, couches, chairs and now mints.

I am going to contact the equal rights commission, we men are being discriminated, we want mints.
