Denver really is a blu-collar town for the most part.
I've been on this board for 9 years and this is the first time that I've ever heard of Denver referred to as blue collar. If anything, I've always seen Denver being criticized for being too corporate lol.

Agreed. I travel for a living and it seems everybody everywhere carries a backpack, including in to business meetings. The only folks I notice carrying briefcases are about 95 years old.

I carry a backpack that contains my laptop and other techie stuff. I also dress really casual. I don't think I remember how to put on a tie even though I have quite a few in my closet for a previous job I had in California.

Unfortunately I still need to wear a tie a couple times a week, but it's always smartly coordinated with my backpack.

But of course.

I met a guy the other day that had a small solar panel on his backpack.

I am a Cloud Consultant at Oracle and I have to wear a suit/tie here at customers.... but believe me I would much rather be in my jeans/plaid shirt...

I cannot believe there are people that actually like getting all dressed up everyday.

Metairie,

I notice it too. I moved here from Phoenix (and before that the mid-atlantic). I have spent time all over the world - California (north and south), Europe, S. America, Asia. I have never been to a place that is as casual and tattoo'd as here. I'm not saying that is bad or good, just an observation. It was kind of shocking in the beginning.

Any city that is cool has people with casual style and tattoos NYC, L.A., Denver, Austin, Seattle, Honolulu...

If you like the conservative/clean cut look, Denver and the west probably won't be a good fit.

I feel like I'm the only person w/o tattoos here. I don't really care, I think about getting one every now and then. I go to Houston a lot for work and its really not much different there. Maybe more polos, but still sleeves of tats.
