No RW dittohead knows what left, right, or middle is. Why don't you opine on why Detroiters aren't paying water bills, why the well-off are so far being exempted, and what a solution might be.
I have said that con-servatives bellyache about what they don't like and what must be destroyed, but always leave solutions to someone else (which they then filibuster). Why don't you be the first to offer something.
I have also said that jobs are key, but by their silence, at least on this forum, the Right obviously disagrees. Here is one recent republican "accomplishment" just before adjourning for vacation.

IMO something like this is a piece of the puzzle which would help places like Detroit. Have you heard anything about it on Faux News (or your RW media-of-choice)? You need to explain the right-wing objection to it - that would be a real contribution.
Explain why you would want such initiatives destroyed, and what would be your rightist alternative.

A bit more on your congress at work. I post this in case some Fox, Hannity, Breitbart, Beck, or Limbaugh apostles are not aware. You might contribute a cohesive objection here as well.

Tbh, it doesn't mean that much. One can simply go into the politics forum and say something anti-Obama and get a whole line of rep points. Not saying that's what Retroit did at all. It also depends on how you post, I can post alot of quick replies that doesn't mean much (ex. "agreed" "nice" or "good luck") and of course it won't get any rep points. Or I could post something very meaningful for every single post and get rep points. Posting in high traffic forums will give you more rep points than just local forums as well.

Republicans Filibuster Bill to Reduce Student Loan Payments of Millions of Americans, Co-Authored by Senator Stabenow Debbie Stabenow | Senator for Michigan
Bring The Jobs Home Act is a perfect example of the LW imposing harmful corporate taxes on businesses and then claiming to help them by offering them a 20% cut in some of those taxes. If they really wanted businesses to stay here, the LW should lower corporate taxes (and other onerous burdens) across the board to compete with the tax rates (and regulations) of other countries. It is similar to all the exemptions, deductions, credits, etc. that are embedded in the indecipherable personal income tax code. If the LW really wanted to help the taxpayers, they would simplify the tax code and lower taxes across the board instead of playing little games here and there in an attempt to deceive their ignorant constituents into believing that they care about them.

The Bank On Students Emergency Loan Refinancing Act is another dishonest attempt by the LW to try and convince us that they care about the poor people. How is it caring when they use the tax dollars of poor people who don't go to college to pay off the student loans of those who do go to college? If the LW really wanted to make college affordable, they would quit subsidizing colleges, make them all private and force them to compete by lowering tuition. And most importantly, quit trying to convince us that everyone needs to go to college as some kind of "right".

An analogy would be: setting a person's home on fire then offering them a bucket of water as a sign of your compassion.

Exactly right - spending a lot of time on controversial topics and bashing "the left" (meaning "left" of Attila the Hun) will pile up reps quickly because angry folks must vent their anger, seek one another out for moral support, and ordinary humans won't listen to them. Hate and other regressive thought also seem to have an inherent media audience.
Have any righties yet rationalized their views, or proposed a positive coherent solution of any kind to this problem? I have asked. <crickets>

The Student Loan act is a pragmatic step toward addressing a real problem for students and future productive citizens, and not about "pretending to care" about them. Another question is, why don't you?
Since when does "the left" subsidize colleges? Conservatives have no hand in that?

It's not "the left" which devised our convoluted tax structure or stands in the way of reform - where do you get your information? Oh.....yeah.
It is corporate lobbyists - the RW base - who made it what it is and plan to keep it that way - if not enhance it further for their own profit. They are outsourcing jobs mainly for the dirt-cheap slave labor, and the tax breaks are just one more little perk to help them do it. It is also republicans who are seeking zero taxes on capital gains. As opposed to Joe Lunchbox, the wealthy can also stash money in offshore tax shelters. Explain why any corporate entity should be rewarded for outsourcing.
Give a rationale please.

Here are your "harmful corporate taxes".
The Sorry State of Corporate Taxes | Citizens for Tax Justice
America

Now, instead of ranting about how you and the wealthy are "victimized", explain how your proposed "across the board" lower taxes will help Detroit and benefit those under discussion - allowing poor Detroiters to pay their bills. Remember, as a rightie you already believe that the poor are under-taxed, no?

Also on this topic, you still have not rationalized why the well-off should be exempted.

A Right Or A Privilege? Detroit Residents Split Over Water Shut-Offs : NPR

Now I see people are beginning to steal city water.

They also are trying to stop shuts offs by damaging the system......that will cost other costumers in time.

Why not pay the bill.....or, find a program to help???

BTW.....I would shut of water to the commercial costumers....today.
