I can't do WW, though. I've tried twice, but I was constantly hungry, and that's so distracting. It just isn't enough food.
My impression is that folks who are constantly hungry on WW are either A. Not consuming their weekly points/activity points or B. Not eating filling foods.
We eat plenty, and are continuing to be "foodies" we eat lots of veggies, a fair amount of fruits and squash (zero points) and eat other foods relatively filling relative to points - fish, lean meats, non fat dairy (a cup of nonfat greek yogurt is only 3 points, and quite filling) whole grains (oatmeal YUM!)
We do not feel deprived. Feelings of deprivation are the enemy.

Well, I certainly agree with what I bolded! I cannot remember exactly what I was eating--it was years ago. I just remember doing WW and always being hungry.
Why do you insist on making claims as if you as at the forefront of science and nutrition when you are actually a ways behind?
Low carb diets are not, and will probably never be dead. They remain the preferred method of choice in the body building and weight loss communities. Your new found love, intermittent fasting, is no where near as popular as the low carb approach.
Fasting.....why the hell??? If I fast it just usually leads me to eating crap foods to break the fast.....and I start obssesing on food too. Atkins type diet is what works best for me hands down.
Awesome! Cutting out sugar really does make a huge difference. The yoga could be having some effect we don't yet understand. It's entirely possible lowering stress could make your liver function more effectively.
No, probably the low carb. And this "yoga", that's the one where you learn to break bricks with our body parts???

Intermittent fasting isn't like - not eating for a couple of days.
It's eating a very full, late dinner, and waking up the next morning to little or no breakfast at all, then a couple carrot sticks or a munch on lettuce mid-day, and ending the evening with a very full, late dinner.
It sets the metabolism into overdrive trying to keep up with itself, and it's popular among certain athletic-type groups of people. The ones who do it, thrive one it and do very well.
Also, in general, an occasional 24 hour fast can be good for you, IF you are already eating healthfully.

Nope, a 24 hour fast is not good for me. Makes me start obsessing on food and then I usually break the fast in a not so good way.
I have a friend who lost 125 lbs in 11 months on the Atkins diet. She went from 260 lbs to 135lbs and looks great. She is a strong advocate of this diet.
I needed to lose 20 lbs and this diet did the trick for me. It was relatively easy too. One advantage of doing Atkins is the drop in appetite you experience while on it. That REALLY helped me.

I agree. When I eat a lot carbs, I feel lazy and hungry. If going low carb it's important to drink a lot of water.
Bread is THE main thing I missed most on the Atkins diet.....especially for sandwiches and hamburgers. Although lettace worked okay, it just wasn't the same as bread. But once I found Oopsie Rolls (revolution rolls), I never looked back. Made with eggs and cream cheese, they really did the trick for me. Anyone tried them?

I haven't tried them but I found a recipe. I'm making these tonight!
