I'm about 30 lbs overweight but lately I notice at some restaurants with smaller booths, my stomach almost hits the table. It completely expands. I've been asked when I was due before (while standing) and I'm not pregnant. I have friends that have considerably more weight they have to loose than me and fit fine in a booth. So I wonder if it's a medical issue that my stomach expands so much and I can only buy specific pants because a 16 is too tight in the stomach but legs are baggy. I'm trying to loose weight and going to the dr so hopefully it's just my weight all going to one place or a food allergy and not something serious.

Are you overweight like 30 lbs? I guess my point is I'm not THAT big and I have a friends who is 75 lbs more than I am and can sit in a booth without any issues.

Everybody is designed different, some people tend to collect fat in specific areas while others have it distributed more liberally. However it's unlikely that you are only 30 lbs overweight and it is all stored in your stomach. You may have a secondary issue or an unrealistic take on your situation.

Is it all booths? I know several restaurants that have very narrow booths. I sit at a table there.

No not all booths. I notice one restaurant we go to some booths are fine, others are narrow. The other day we were sat at a booth there where only one side was narrow (table attached to the wall so you couldn't even it out).

Maybe it's the difference between an "apple" shape and a "pear" shape. BTW, apple shaped women (more stomach fat) are more prone to strokes and heart attacks than pear shaped women (more butt fat).

Maybe you are more than 30 lb overweight. We can't tell from your description. Chances are that if you wear a size 16/18 you are more than 30 lb overweight. I am 5'3", wear a size 14/16 and weigh 180 lb. That makes me about 40 lb overweight. I fit in a booth just fine but most of my weight is in my thighs/hips. My waist is not that large.

I think people are shaped differently.

I'm 5'5 and I went from a 14 to a 16/18 but weight on the scale didn't change (except before and during my period). I excercise at least 30 minutes a day on the elliptical or walking (if I walk I try to go at least 45 to 60 minutes)....and sometime both. But if I don't do at least 30 min of something I feel guilty. Anyways....getting of topic but I fluxuate between 30 and 40 extra lbs. I notice even if I fit in a booth, after I eat (and it's not much since I get full fast)....I'm bloated. If I only eat protein, fruit and veggies with no sauces....just plain....then I don't feel bloated.
