Hello everybody! How have you been? I ve lost 22 pounds and kept them off through the pandemia.
Im trying now to do keto but i had some problems
How are you doing?? What diet do you follow?
I need some support since i need to keep losing weight..
I dont mind to lose slowly ( that is how it worked for me) but i need to keep losing.
Happy new year to everyone!!
Ugh. I gained 5 pounds of winter weight last year, and then another 10 during the first few months of the pandemic. So up 15 pounds as of June 2020. Managed to get myself somewhat under control at that point (ie, I quit the Ben & Jerry's diet).
Still up 8 pounds at this point. My daily goals have been simply to shower every day and maintain my 18/6 intermittent fasting. Hoping to eventually get back to walking on the treadmill one of these days. Simple small changes to get back into a healthier routine....
IF was going wonderfully for both me and my husband in 2019, we both had lost 30 and 60 pounds and we're in the best shape of our lives. We had a great routine for eating and exercising, but then like everyone else around the world Covid-19 struck and changed it all.
We've both gained a decent amount of weight back over the course of 2020 that we had lost. We stress ate, didn't exercise, our routines were thrown out of whack, plus we were home all the time. It's hard to avoid the fridge when it's there with you every single day for months with no reprieve. Anyway needless to say we are ready for a new start in 2021.
Back on Intermittent Fasting strict. Back to walking 6 miles a day, more or less depending on the weather (snow & ice). I will not let one bad year undo all of the progress that we made and worked so hard for.
So congrats to those of you still going strong with IF, or just starting out. I believe in it completely, I know that it works if you follow it. I'm back in action!
I, too, am doing IF (16:8) to combat my COVID-19 added pounds since quarantine began - along with attempting keto, the success of which is rather spotty with me.
Personally, I find just not eating (even for 24 hours at a time) much easier than eating just a little or not what I'd like to eat. Cold turkey works with alcohol, smoking, romance, AND food?
I'm somewhat unclear as to how much we're supposed to eat in that 8-hour window, however; OMAD isn't called IF, it's called OMAD... So two meals???
Eat the whole 8 hours to compensate for the other 16???????

Any clarification would be appreciated!
Keep in mind that IF will help your body detox, lose weight, and improve your vitals. At some point the body will still need to replenish lost minerals or else you will start feeling fatigued.
You have to go back to eating a healthier diet that doesn't bring back the unhealthy eating habits. I don't care if you want to eat carbs or not. It's important to eat a low-insulin diet that is moderate in carbs, protein, low caloric levels, and nutrient dense. You can say goodbye to starches and eat more ketogenic foods.
The key is eating low insulin spiking foods to keep your hunger down and blood sugars balanced. People often get back to eating too much and still doing IF will cause your body to feel out of whack.
IF is a solution to weight loss but over time you need to develop a lifetime diet of reducing processed foods and eating more wholesome foods without spiking insulin for easier IF.

I skip breakfast because I'm not hungry when I wake up, then eat some fruit very late morning and two home cooked meals made of whole foods and very very few processed foods.
No artificial sweetener because it keeps the cravings going plus there are studies that suggest it turns off the switch that tells us when we're full. I keep sugar to a minimum, eating dessert two or three times a month, and the home cooking keeps the constant little drizzle of sugar that's in convenience grocery store foods out of the everyday diet.
