I disagree. Ice cream is delicious. They total around 2,000 calories or about 10 percent of my caloric intake. I am comfortable with eating 10 percent junk. An orthorexic wouldn't be but then moderate junk food is much less of a problem than most of them have. Or there's people that just are snackaholics. For someone that snacks five times a day, that's probably where a significant portion of their calories come from. If 40 or 50 percent of my calories came from snacking, I'd make healthier choices.
Usually air. Stovetop is my preferred method but more work and I'm lazy.

Air popping is much safer, though I'm not sure about popcorn if you have gallstones, like a lot of older folks do.
Regarding the ice cream, IMO, just because something is delicious, that is no reason to eat it. If you're eating dairy ice cream, a fixed percentage is (sorry) the allowable, legal amount of pus, set by federal standards. Personally, I wouldn't touch it. Especially since there is now a wide selection of non-dairy alternatives.
I think some people are forgetting this is the weight loss forum.
Yes, that does appear to be the case. If you visit a 12 step group for eating disorders, one of the rules is that you not mention any specific food. The reason is that folks struggling with obesity tend to be relatively more reactive to the mention, sight and smell of foods, so by mentioning food you might trigger a binge for someone.
I know I tend to be like that; the mention, photograph or scent of food can set me off, and the justification the mind creates is pretty creative and sneaky. Usually I can be aware of this, and not act on it. But the 15 days while I waited for a biopsy result, I did use food to handle the stress, and now I need to recalibrate.
I sure wish I weren't like that! Hardly seems fair but it is that it is.

It's not. It's the diet AND weight loss forum. This is predominantly a US forum though and since over 70% of adults are fat of course there's going to be a lot of interest in the weight loss side of things. I still ate ice cream, baked goods, chocolate, and drank beer when I was losing weight, just less of it than I do now. Popcorn is a newer addition. Hits the salt craving without going full on potato chip where the bag seemingly eats itself which is why I never get potato chips except one of the snack bags at a gas station once in a blue moon.

I've gone to a couple of NA/AA meetings. They weird me out with all the though art helpless, embrace the higher power nonsense. Works for some people but weirds me out. Only addiction I've had has been nicotine. Took about two weeks of suck to kick that one. For months I'd go out and have a couple drinks and see someone sucking on a cigarette and get psychological cravings. Compared with the physical withdrawal the psychological craving doesn't particularly phase me. Food/alcohol I have a better relationship with. I can enjoy a cupcake without getting hooked on cupcakes and pretty soon I'm eating two dozen cupcakes a week. I can't do that with nicotine. But that's my problem, not the guy outside the bar's problem or Jesus's problem.

I agree about the 12 step, religious stuff. Non-believers are told to make the group or the universe their higher power. If anyone insists you bow your head, they're taking your inventory and need to mind their own affairs. But they do it anyway.
I attended one of their local conferences with perhaps a thousand attendees. It's interesting stuff.
