Most of the times when 2 breeds are crossed You get the Worst of Both Not the Best! OP lives in Flordia....Except for Very Hot Humid days her dog might work out as a outside dog! It would still have the other dog for company! & the kids!

I really have to disagree with that. We live in the Northeast, where it's not nearly as hot and humid as it gets in Florida, and Artie (who is NOT a squishy-faced breed) gets HOT! It cannot be comfortable and it cannot be healthy.
And even if it was comfortable, I don't think that ANY dog should be "an outside dog" in ANY weather. That's just my opinion. (And Artie's opinion too.)

Not always, Katie. Just as often, a mixed breed gets the best of both parents. It's all 50/50 at first.
When rare registered dogs are bred for specific traits, line-breeding and in-breeding become more common, and the percentages change. The best dogs tend to get the very most of the trait, whatever it might be, and the dogs on the other side of the equation get the most problems a breed might have. It's the middle that tends to get cut out over a long time when dogs are inbred.
So instead of a puppy getting 50/50, an inbred puppy may get 80/20 or 20/80 in severe cases.
I wonder if your dog could have diabetes insipidus? It's "fake" diabetes - excessive thirst and urination, but it's not diabetes. People get it and I think (not positive) that dogs can too. Maybe a Google search and/or ask your vet?
My effin' neighbor got one of those small froofy dogs that she couldn't potty train (and it ate her carpet)...I suspect she didn't try very hard (though she spent 3 grand to send it to boot camp for two weeks). When she just tossed it out in the back yard, it made OUR lives a living hell.
People who have outside dogs rarely realize how it affects the people around them...never mind it being cruel to the dog. Op...if you're committed to the dog, get rid of the carpet or close all doors to carpeted areas/put up baby gates.
Stan I live in an Apt Cant get rid of the carpet! I do block Lady in the Kitchen BUT for the size of the Apt the Kitchen is a tiny cubby hole! Honestly my 1 bedroom kitchen was bigger! I even had a table & 2 chairs in it which made cooking much easier for me! as I can only stand 10 min tops!
OP I wondering How Dry is the Air in your House? I have Dry Heat & when it on in winter Katie & Lady Gulp water like crazy! & so does my son & I BUT if I put one of those vicks vapor steamer thingys [with water only] on we all drink less & not as dry!
God knows I could probably use more advice than I'm qualified to give raising my new devil dog pup.
My only other dog I got as an adult from the pound and one day when out on the street a young boy came up to me and said, "that dog looks just like the one we gave to the shelter". When I inquired further he said that they couldn't do a thing with her and had to give her away. This dog was an angel from the moment she came home with me, I had to do no training with her whatsoever. The problem. There were three other dogs in that household and a couple of young kids. I had neither.
I Googled it and yes, dogs can get this and is often missed as a diagnosis. Please check with your vet, as the treatment is very simple.
