When we moved out of that neighborhood, I boxed up the cat in one of those long under the bed boxes (the cat's head kept popping up out of it, which the kid saw) and took her with me to our new home. She had a pampered live for many more years after that. I feel bad for stealing the cat now, but couldn't deal with watching her be abused anymore.
Applause! Applause! Applause! I bow to you!

Don't you dare feel ashamed or bad. You did a VERY GOOD thing!

Sounds like your Grandma's neighbor shouldn't have dogs at all. Maybe the shelter should be notified not to adopt to them since they can't handle it.

Please tell your Uncle Thank You for taking Sadie into his life and caring for her! Sounds like love for the animals definitely runs in your family!

I think you should be proud of your young self. That wasn't stealing, it was *rescue* and *saving*. My hat is off to your younger self!

As Albert Einstein said,

"The world is a dangerous place. Not because of the people who are evil; but because of the people who don't do anything about it."

I am glad your uncle is taking the dog. I would hope that even if your uncle did not take the dog, that you would have figured out something to not allow such behavior to continue and allow that dog to suffer.

So if you don't name a dog how do you call it? I guess you don't. It is wonderful that your uncle is going to take the dog. Hopefully it does not get more sick before he can get it. I always feel sorry for dogs that are just tied up all the time. I also feel bad when any outside animal doesn't have any shelter at all. I have seen many horses that have nothing. They look so sad in the winter covered in the snow and no place to go.

I haven't heard, but I'll see him next weekend so I'll probably hear then.

I assume no news is good news.
