Doubt that. The consequence of the action is far too delayed plus the dogs get the opportunity to pull all the way home. "Short walk Mom (or Dad) but thanks for letting me pull the whole way!"

It worked in my case. Although I think immediately stopping whenever the dog pulls is probably a better method.

I did a lot of research on reactive dogs. When a dog is reactive, it is not necessarily aggressive when they are offleash in a social setting. It's because they can meet dogs more naturally and are not restraint by a leash. My suggestion would be bringing one yorkie at a time to test it out. You have to monitor closely when you bring them into a park.

As for reactivity, I m trying to figure it out with my foster dog. My own dog is very good but the foster isn't. I am now walking them separately so I can better control the situation. The articles I read mostly encourages positive reinforcement - mainly distract the dog by asking for a command and treating them. I must said it made reactivity more manageable with my foster.

Get Martingale collars for each.

Walk them separately using a short leash.

Make sure the dog is beside or behind you, but never in front of you.

If the dog gets in front of you, simply stop: the leash and the collar will do the rest of the work.

Move the dog back to where its supposed to be, and start walking again. Lather, Rinse, Repeat as needed.

Dogs are pack animals and you are part of the pack, whether you want to be or not. You need to lead the dog while walking, and not let the dog lead you. As far as lunging and other such behaviors, that depends on the breed. You can't really punish a dog for doing dog-things, but you can modify or alter their behavior.

But, first, you need to get the dogs to walk properly.
