The safety factor in El Paso considering Juarez is so close by is very similar to the safety in Windsor, Ontario with Detroit - the most violent and corrupt city in America - just across the river. In Windsor, it's a completely different world without that sense of fear or gun violence or a real noticeable sense of desperate poverty. El Paso is the same, and having a large university there as well as an active downtown helps. It's also showing that having a strong security presence at the border crossing is paramount - particularly since now there will be 3-4 times as many people trying to get across since Arizona has become so difficult to navigate. Everyone's trying to move through the border crossings in S Texas.

In all honesty and seriousness, I will take Juarez over Detroit any day of the week.

No kidding; at least in Juarez you will see authority out in the streets. In Detroit, not even the police want to venture onto the abandoned 'hoods.

Philadelphia- what's the matter with you? You're back to being of the worst cities again after a brief hiatus when you're announced as one of the best cities for single guys due to alot more women residing there than guys. I guess all the guys moved west and left all the women behind since this city constantly ranked as one of the worst cities after being fed up with it.

Yes, evidenced by all the iron bars, window grates, security systems -- but they don't generally kill you. El Paso is very high on property crimes including vandalism, there is vandalism everywhere, lots of graffitti, lots of arson. But still you don't really worry about getting killed here.
