This is Michele Bachmann stupid. He just destroyed his
own position and is too dumb to understand it. He didn't
recognize he was pointing out that Galileo and the truth
were held back for awhile. The idiot.

don't get me wrong, i'm not going to try to influence you one way or the other...it comes down to Obama failing for 4 years, and people are ready for "change".

Newt or Mitt.

Newt is the smartest person running and he has shown it in every debate. His baggage is what has kept him from gaining any traction and I don't see him ever being a serious contender, which is unfortunate because I think his views are right on the money. He also deserves much of the credit that Clinton still receives for the 1990s budget situation.

Mitt is stiff, plastic, and boring, but I still think he would be better for the economy than any of the others, with the possible exception of Newt. No, I'm not crazy about Romney care, but his defense of it is legitimate. It is nowhere near as big an abomination at the state level as it is at the federal.

Perry is this election's Fred Thompson. Cool-talking cowboy that rides into the race late on a wave of excitement and gets a big initial surge, but he will peter out before Super Tuesday.

Bachmann, I like her, if I ever get married I hope my wife looks like her at 55, but I can't take her seriously. For example, her $2 gas promise ranks up there with "read my lips, no new taxes" and Obama's ridiculous promise that the $1T stimulus would keep unemployment under 8% -- then it went over 10%. I don't know why politicians continue to promise things that depend on many factors that are beyond their control. The election is over a year away and she is already setting herself up for massive backlash if she does somehow win. The MSM will NOT protect her and obfuscate her broken promises like they have with Obama. There is NOTHING they hate more than a conservative, attractive female.

Cain is sharp as a tack and I could really get behind is 9-9-9 plan, but I don't see how we can run him in 2012 when one of our main rallying cries against Obama in 2008 was "the guy isn't qualified" and "the guy is too inexperienced." Cain was the CEO of a pizza place, and not even a top-tier one like Pizza Hut. You don't think the Dims will have a field day with that?

Ron Paul... God love him, but Trump was right. The guy can't get elected.

you're not being a Republican explains why you feel the way you do. I am glad you took time to watch, many on the other side don't bother, but they come on these boards and pretend they have opinions on the debates.

Who won? It simply depends on what poll you watch and your overall views and favorites. I would have to say, with the exception of Bachmann looking like death warmed over (she is getting tired and it shows) they all had some good moments.

Who can win in 2012, unless Obama makes some real progress anyone of them probably.

Nita

ps: Pimpy (what a name) Fred Thompson and Perry are nothing alike. Some would like us to think so. I was a huge Thompson supporter, but it was obviously from day one he had no desire to be in the race. He was never way ahead in the polls like Perry has been in some (certainly not all) he didn't get a lot of attention in the debates, and he had a life far removed from politics for years before deciding to run. No, the two men and the campaign are very different.

Where the hell did my poll/thread go? It was titled "Who won the GOP debate on 9/7/11?" This thread is about who WILL win the debate. But mine was about who WON the debate. This thread is obsolete and pointless now.
