you obviously have paid no attention to what he said; you are depending on hear say: he said, SS policy would not affect those on SS. His comments were addressed to those in their 20s and 30s. Do you research before commenting. I know a heck of a lot of seniors and people from mid 40s up who are not concerned at all. Maybe you didn't watch the debate..

hahahaha
he could not beat donald duck!

There are plenty of folks who will vote for ANYONE who runs against obama
he is dead in the water, stick a fork in his ass, cause he is cooked!!!
I want a picture of the u-haul carting his dumb ass out of the white house and back to where he came from : slithering he came in and slithering he will leave!!
WHOEVER RUNS AGAINST HIM I WILL VOTE FOR!!!

mmnita, I heard the entire debate. Perry STARTED his answer by verifying his belief that calling SS a Ponzi scheme was still accurate. No one truly fixes what they call, right off the bat, a Ponzi scheme. Romney, on the other hand, immediately addressed the fact tens of millions rely on it, and it was fixable. First rule of reading people is what they say FIRST matters most!! Its instinctive, and more honest, than follow-up comments.

Perry started with PONZI scheme. While it sold books, it cooked him for 2012.

and it is a sceme, most realize that. He also said those in their 30s and 20s are getting screwed. Never did he mention those on SS should lose any of their benefits. Also Perry mentioned: as it is right now, he too said it needed fixing, but too many heard only the first part. Believe me, the only seniors that are worried are those who would not support him regardless. Obviously you are not a senior or near the SS age...

nmnita, Had he not used the term Ponzi scheme, and saved those seconds to DETAIL a fix, and not written a book calling it a PONZI scheme, he'd be in good shape. But he did not, and via 2 words, its game, set, match.

Florida will be the start of his downfall.

SS will be around for a long time you must check out the demografics. Gen. x will be retiring and the next gen is larger. Also remember the money going into the trust fund is not being stolen by some Repub. who is telling you that to privitize and give it to wall st. is the only way. The fund purches Treasuries so as long as the Rebup. dont default for us it will be OK

The way things are going, if the election were held tomorrow, they`d probably both lose.

nmnita, Definition-LOL! We're talking politics here, all that matters is how it plays. Romney loved hearing RP bury himself, no doubt.

If nothing was changed, Social Security would be able to pay out 100 percent of benefits until 2037. Then, it would be able to pay out 75 percent of benefits. (While 75 percent isn't great, I bet 75 percent of benefits is more than the pay out will be after Republics get finished "fixing" the program.)

What concerns me though is that the Republics have already convinced people my age that it won't be there for us. If it's not, it will because they stole the money and gave it to Wall Street.
