republicans are pushing for him hard.

he has taken back his decided no comment, and is now back to get back to me in a couple weeks.

christie can win the independents that i think perry and romney will struggle to get.

christie also could get some dems i think.

he's pretty even handed social wise. i gained a lot of respect for him when he appointed a muslim to his cabinet. the media went crazy, and he defended him saying he had the qualifications for the job and didnt care about religion.

he's blunt and gets too the point, and is fiscally conservative.

the only thing holding him back is his weight. he doesn't look presidential.

and yes, people do vote for superficial reasons. a lot of people voted for obama in 08 because he was the refreshing young nice looking guy and mccain was skeletor.

he's a wildcard though, and the entire race changes if he decides to jump in.

Christie is very overweight and used taxpayer funds to fly in a helicopter to his son's baseball game. That alone will make him unelectable, as trivial (or not) as it is.

The key is a positive, optimistic message, missing from the entire GOP field. Its telling independnets what you are for and why you feel supporting it will improve the future, w/o spending valuable scarce time joining the ignorant TP chanting only what you are against.

Can CC present a positive message-not sure, but this entire field seems incompetent at doing it, so CC presents no risk.

I often read a lot about Christie, who seems to be pushed by a lot of the republican base to run. I am not exactly sure what makes these republicans hyped about him, but it would be interesting to find out. However if the above statement is true; christie using taxpayer money to fly his son in a helicopter is just outrageous.

Mistake on his part but he did pay it back out of his own money. The weight thing although it bothers slightly should not be an issue. If people think those two things are deal breakers, they might want to look into their current president that smokes cigarettes and gives away 1/2 billion dollars to companies on the brink of failure.

Christie will not get the nomination, I can assure you that. I doubt he will sit well with the Midwest and South. I believe Christie said he favors the gun control measures that NJ has, that is certain death in a GOP primary. Christie will only get votes from the Northeast Republicans for the most part. Plus, him and Romney will be stealing votes from each other, leaving the void open for a Bachmann or Paul or Perry if he can do effective damage control. Not sure how Bilderberger darling Rick Perry is gonna do now, illegal immigration might be his death knell

CC would draw votes from all but the South, and at this stage I doubt any candidate can get enough of a clear victory to effective run in 2012. Its a very weak field, with not much in the way of accomplishments, not much in the way of a positive message, etc.

CC would win in 2012 if he could get there in a rout.

He's not going to win. He practically committed political suicide by appointing a Muslim to be judge, just like Perry looks like committed political suicide recently

He won't win, because GOP is too extremist to nominate him. I agree on that.
