You're right. Our views on this 4th century creed are that it is inconsistent with what the Bible teaches about the nature of God. I have never had a trinitarian Christian who was able to find anything in the Bible that says God is a three-in-one substance or to provide any evidence that this doctrine was believed by anyone during the first couple of centuries after Christ's death.

I actually like how Thomas Jefferson put it, when he said, "It is too late in the day for men of sincerity to pretend they believe in the Platonic mysticisms that three are one and one is three, and yet one is not three and three are not one."

The Book of Mormon is also considered heresy since Christians consider the Old and New Testaments to be the final word of God and any other additions to be heresy or worse, the words of the False Prophet.
Sounds suspiciously like somebody is telling God to can it! God never said He was through talking to us, much as traditional Christians may try to convince themselves that He did. There is no rational reason for anyone to insist that Jesus Christ could not have made a post-mortal appearance to people in another part of the world. Would He have loved them any less than He loved the people in the Holy Land? Would a God who is the same yesterday, today, and forever simply abandon tens of thousands of people in parts of the world other than around the Arabian peninsula? I'll be darned if I can think of a reason why He would, but apparently if I believe He didn't, I can't be a Christian.

Whatever.

You think that is bad, look at his posts about gays.

Regardless, no Mormonism isn't a cult, and yes it is a part of Christianity, As far as why Bachmann and Cain were asked, well I'm generally of the opinion we should not be asking religious questions as it relates to politics, we should not engage the two. However, Bachmann and Cain both run on their religion (as does Perry and Santorum) so the question might have some relevance as it related to candidates who make their candidacy about their religion.

It is amusing to see all the candidates self-destruct,as they make an ever smaller, minority tent.

If you are looking for fuel to hate on Bachmann and Cain, this topic is really the wrong way to approach faults. :smh:

This is a 'Gotcha' question. CNN is trying to trap them and create a conflict in the Republican Party. Both Cain and Bachman refuse to respond to 'Gotcha' questions when there are far more important questions to ask then religion. CNN should be asking questions about unemployment, high taxation, and the bankruptsy of America. Both Cain and Bachmann did the right think and good for them.

Holder most likely won't last out the month, and obama isn't far behind. Why would you want a socialist crook to lead our country, and I use the term "Lead" very loosely ........
I don't think Mitt is a socialist.

You certainly have that right. Just look at the mormon network in the state of Utah. Mormon citizens receive preferences just by belonging to the mormon cult.

This is a non-issue, but the progressives need something, anything, everything, to distract from the abysmal results of the Obama administration. Effectiveness is always the key. Not ideology.

I don't care if Romney is a Mormon. I'm more worried about the Church of Flip Flop that he apparently belongs to.
