When was it ever 350? There have always been about 9 swing states since I've been paying attention.

I know, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Delaware, Washington, Illinois, New York, California, Hawaii, New Jersey, Vermont, Maryland, are states that Romney has pratically 0 chance and that is already 11 states, including 3 of the top 5 populatated states

However, with Obama practically having most of what we use to call the "news" media, in his pocket and then 90 percent of Hollywood in the other, its a heck of a lot easier for him. He can make any gaffe he wants, along with Biden who's notorious but the media gives them both passes. The media is pulling for him and will step it up even more once we get closer.
Romney and the GOP have no one to blame but themselves if they can't win this election (and it's not a good sign when even his supporters are already making excuses for him)! But if there's really so much of this so-called "bias" against Romney, then how 'bout giving us some specific examples?

BTW, does that also include 'ol "fair & balanced" FOX News..... which produced this campaign ad against Obama, and ran it as "news"?

California
Oregon
Washington
New Mexico
Minnesota
Wisconsin
Illinois
Michigan
Pennsylvania
New York
Maine
Vermont
Massachusetts
Connecticut
Rhode Island
New Jersey
Delaware
Maryland
Washington DC

All of these states give Obama 247 electoral votes. He needs 270 to win. All the solid and leaning Romney states give him 206 electoral votes so Romney has an uphill battle and has to win more toss up states.

Here are the toss up states (Obama won all the toss ups in 2008. That already gives Obama an advantage)

Nevada - 6
Colorado - 9
Iowa - 6
Ohio - 18
Virginia - 13
New Hampshire -4
Florida - 29

Obama has the advantage in several of these states for a couple of reasons. Two of those states have a larger Hispanic population and other polls show Obama has a lead in Virginia thanks to northern Virgina (DC suburbs). Even if Obama loses Ohio and Florida he has other paths. For example

Obama could win Virginia, New Hampshire and Colorado and that would put him at (273)

or he could win Virginia, New Hampshire and Nevada and that would put him at (270)

or he could win Virginia, New Hampshire and Iowa and that would put him at (270)

or he could win Colorado, Iowa, New Hampshire and Nevada which would put him over (272)

Remember thats only if Obama loses both Ohio and Florida. Lets give Obama Ohio since he has a better chance winning that state over Florida.

If Obama wins Ohio and any one of the toss ups (except New Hampshire) that puts Obama over (270)

If Obama just won Florida alone that puts him at (276) so Florida is huge. An Obama win here would slam the door shut on Romney.

All they have to do is call Ohio or Florida for Obama on election night and its in the bag for Obama. If he gets neither, he has several other paths. This is not like the election of 2000 and 2004.

BTW last months polls (5/24) showed Obama leading Romney in Florida, Ohio and Virginia

Excellent analysis and spot on.

Don't get caught up with the media and the pundits. Its all about the electoral math and Obama has enough paths to get to 270. If Obama was doing so bad, there should be this many toss up states. Romney should be way ahead of Obama in all of them. Remember when the tables were turned in 2004. Democrats wanted Bush out really bad. Democrats thought that was motivation enough to get Bush out of office. The problem is Democrats never really liked John Kerry just like republicans don't really like Romney. The only way Romney wins is if republicans vote for Romney not vote against Obama.

I'll say again, obama will lose in a landslide. Have fun with your charts but they're meaningless and we all know it.
